Re: Gaming Monitor discussion

Pulled the trigger on the Acer XF270HU today. Upgrading my monitor (currently Asus VG248QE) was my next planned computer related purchase and this one ticked nearly all the boxes of things I wanted out of one or got close enough.
- 1440p: Check
- 28" screen: Not quite, 27".
- IPS: Check
- Freesync: Check
- 30-120Hz refresh range: 40-144Hz
- Under $500: Was $549, could've waited for a sale but I'll live.
- Mountable: Check
Was wanting something with a minimum refresh rate of 30Hz just to be safe but as it is with a single 390 I don't have a non-mmo game that runs at less than 40fps at 1440p with acceptable settings (outside of Skyrim where I use a resource hogging ENB on top of the hundred+ mods installed. I also play that in borderless window so freesync wouldn't apply to it anyway).
Now just hoping I get a good sample on the first try.Last edited by trobinson97; 03-06-2016, 07:27 PM.PS: You guys are great.

I have the gsync version. Very nice monitor. Once you've experienced 144hz it's hard to go back.Comment

Re: Gaming Monitor discussion
Looking for a monitor for my PC and Consoles so I need a 144gz one. Problem is I cant seem to find one that I want to pull the trigger on. I have to get it through newegg due to the fact I have a newegg card and can get it interest free for 6 or 12 months. Found this one on newegg for 469 and ironically it was one I was looking at.

Anyone have suggestions, atm I am playing on http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16889005873
Price range really isnt that important but for the Newegg credit card to be interest free it has to be 249-498 for 6 months interest free or 499 or more for 12 month.
Im also looking at this one:

Re: Gaming Monitor discussion
I'm coming from a 144Hz monitor but with a TN panel. Wanted to experience freesync and see what the big deal about IPS was and I definitely do. The image quality is beautiful on this thing. Looks way better out of the box than my TN did even after calibration. No dead pixels found yet either. About to check some games with freesync and play around with the settings.

Re: Gaming Monitor discussion
Been looking to bump up to a 144Hz monitor from my 60Hz BenQ to better play PC games along with console games. Looking at getting this monitor and curious if anyone has it or used it that can give feedback

Re: Gaming Monitor discussion
Anyone recommend a 4k/HDR computer monitor? Probably gonna upgrade before Pro hits. I found some awesome looking BenQs but I dont see HDR as a feature"Successful people do not celebrate in the adversity or misfortune of others."

Re: Gaming Monitor discussion
I was wondering this as well and I think I posed this question about a month ago. There are some 4K monitors out there, found some on Amazon.
The reviews were generally good, 4/5 stars on average but I don't know too much about them.Fino Alla Fine

Re: Gaming Monitor discussion
Yeah.
I am actually reading that a number of monitors aren't advertised as HDR but actually support the full color gamut of the best HDR TVs so far in 2016.
Couple have my eye big time, one ASUS, one ACER, and one Benq. Tough choice lol"Successful people do not celebrate in the adversity or misfortune of others."
