Got the Vive setup. Audioshield and Tilt Brush are amazing. Time to reorganize a bunch of stuff to make more room.

Gaijin (War Thunder) has released version 1.34 upgrade today. One of the pieces to the update is to support the Oculus Rift CV1 (Windows, DX11). You're now able to test VR. They're looking for feedback so that they can support any issues you maybe having. Gaijin is also going to support the HTC Vive and PlayStation VR.

I'm still over here with my DK2. CV1 isn't supposed to ship until late July, early August. Should I get a Vive? Think I would get it before then?

You probably would, yeah. Looking at the order page now for the Vive orders will ship in June if ordered today. I ordered mine in March and got it this week.

I haven't used both, but went Vive for the option of the room-scale VR stuff, and because they're less proprietary and an incomplete product - Vive is on the SteamVR platform, no Oculus Rift store, Rift dismissing room-scale VR and the touch controllers not being ready, etc.

Your call, hard to say. Depends on your priorities.

If you are like me and on the waiting list forever then check out nowinstock.net. It gives you text and email alerts when items come in stock. I chose the Oculus obviously and Thursday morning at 3:30 they came in stock and now mine comes today. Was able to jump the line significantly which is good for me since work will be really busy by the time I would have gotten my Oculus and I wouldn't have time to play it.

Additionally iRacing support for the Oculus comes tomorrow, so I am really excited. It's really good timing.

At Best Buy this weekend pitching my wife on the TV I want to get and HDR in general (different BB than the one closer to home, had awful demo stations for HDR, really counterproductive trip ) there were at least 3 different areas people were demonstrating Oculus Rift.

FYI in case anyone's interested in trying one.

Hopefully a common thing with third parties, Ubisoft's VR releases today were announced as coming to Rift and Vive the same day as PSVR.

Hmm a Scorpio exclusive perhaps?. Bethesda did confirm it was going to be for Scorpio. Very interested in Microsoft's E3 conference this year.

They also said it's going to launch in 2017 and the game will be playable from start to finish in VR.

Bethesda Game Studios made the surprise announcement at E3 last year that the company would be porting the entirety of Fallout 4 to virtual reality, and confirmed it would be released for both the HTC Vive and in VR on the forthcoming Xbox ‘Project Scorpio’ console. Since then, the company has been relatively silent on the …

So far I am really happy!

Really happy to see this, SteamVR releasing base stations this year. I wanted an extra set of lighthouses for my Vive, but they're pricey.

Back in August of last year, Valve started to roll out of its innovative and royalty-free tracking technology. The company made a development kit available to licensees, but only if they attended a $3,000 training session that would teach the ins and outs of the tech. The introductory course

Just love the direction SteamVR in general is going, all the wireless addons for the Vive are coming out later this year, multiple competing options too.

Vanishing Realms (Vive) has been a blast. Wanted to try it out for a few minutes before bed and ended up being an hour.

$200 price cut for Rift and touch controllers, bringing the bundle to $598.

Facebook and Oculus are looking to make their brand of high-end virtual reality considerably more affordable with a price slash coming to its Rift headset and Touch motion controllers.

I'll be interested to see if Oculus works fully on Scorpio or something....

Completely honest, no way I'll ever build a huge gaming rig, but could see myself eventually getting VR if it works better with consoles...and more power than PSVR, which isn't bad, but seems limiting in how it can grow.
