Re: I have a confession to make: I don't finish games..
Exactly. I have Nioh and made it to the second boss before starting something else. I played Bloodborne until I got to Father G. I just don’t have the time or patience for “the grind” so I’m done with those.
I’ll likely come back to Horizon but it’s currently shelved as well.

Re: I have a confession to make: I don't finish games..
I could have written this myself. Here's how I handle it:
I buy madden and fifa and will play fifa more than madden.
I pay for EA Access and fill some void with that. Dragons Age Inquisition was awesome and I played it through 3 or 4 times. I also get some minimal play out of NHL, golf, and nba games.
I buy the rare game that I really research. I love the Assassins Creed and GTA games and recently had a blast with Far Cry Primal.
I shop used games in the xbox store and game stop. I first played DA: Inquisition on EA Access and later bought it for 5$ on sale.
I download most free with gold games and EA Access games whether I have interest in them or not and then uninstall them. This keeps them in my ready to install list.
So, I pay for maybe 3-4 games a year but I have constant variety.

Bloodborne was good but what turned me off was that you had to find the hidden lantern and light it in order for the game to save. I would die and start at the beginning despite playing for a few hours and that just turned me of completely. What's the point in having an auto save if it's not auto saving?Exactly. Horizon was and is ******* awesome!!! Easily my 2017 game of the year and hell, I have already crowned it as I know that there's not a single game for the rest of the year that im going to play that will match it let alone surpass it. I was into Horizon from beginning to end. Can't wait for The Frozen Wilds DLC later this year.Comment

Re: I have a confession to make: I don't finish games..
I found this to be true as well with sports games. I designated sport game or shooter days, usually week days when less time. Then if I play on weekends I use time to play other games. Currently Batman Arkham City. She's 100% right. Should play one game at a time if possible. If you go between games, it usually ends up with none of them being finished. I know because I used to do this. And unlike majority of people here, I eliminated sports games which just wasted way too much of my time and I missed out on so many games in past generations.

I too did this. For the hour or so spent to finish ONE regular season game in a sports game, one could make great progress in a non-sports game.

Re: I have a confession to make: I don't finish games..
I have to agree with you. My plan starting this year is to just get MLB the Show for my yearly sports fix and just finish non sports games that have been sitting in my backlog and buy non sports games. Missed out on way too many games because of the amount of time i spent on sports games. Even the show can take hours of my time but Im a huge baseball fan so I won't not buy that game yearly.PSN: ckarlic

Re: I have a confession to make: I don't finish games..
If you have fun with with franchise as i do in some sports games, I do not think it really is a waste. What I am doing is no longer buying sports games when they first come out. That way I continue franchise in current game for longer time period, and let new game go through entire patch cycle before deciding if I will play or not. Example, Fifa 17 I am having a blast still in CM with my Everton save, will hold off on 18. But 2k17 NBA I could not get into playing right after renting to try out, so still playing Hawks franchise in 2k16.

Re: I have a confession to make: I don't finish games..
Same here...the only game I could make an exception for would be a NCAA Football game. The dynasty on that game was awesome. I don't get hooked on career modes on other sports games enough.
I find that, for me, I get a way better experience in that hour or two playing a non sports game...I enjoy it more.
Honestly...sports games can kinda stress me out...when i'm losing or think the CPU cheesed me or something. I don't get that as much with single player gamesNintendo Switch Friend Code: SW-7009-7102-8818Comment

I have to agree with you in regards to sports games being stressing. This is especially true when Im in a franchise with the team I follow.Same here...the only game I could make an exception for would be a NCAA Football game. The dynasty on that game was awesome. I don't get hooked on career modes on other sports games enough.

Re: I have a confession to make: I don't finish games..
Reading the last few posts above brings me back to when I was stressing about sports games or going nuts trying to edit them to be the way I wanted them to be. Quit with Madden NFL 13 and haven't looked back. 42 completed games this generation easily says that I made the right decision especially when compared to last generation when I only completed 35 games total. Halfway through this generation, I have already surpassed that and will probably hit the 100 mark by the time this generation is done.Comment

I keep adding games (older) to the collection [emoji17]
Over the last few weeks I’ve got GTAV, Uncharted 4, MGSV: Phantom Pain and MEA
And I still haven’t finished Wolfenstein: TNO

Re: I have a confession to make: I don't finish games..
Actually, I have been doing the opposite. I beat Shadow of the Beast, Assassin's Creed Chronicles India and Assassin's Creed Chronicles Russia over the weekend. I also eliminated three games off my lists and simply have taken them as a "loss". These three games are Shovel Knight (which I actually beat a year ago), Axiom Verge (was playing yesterday and im just not into the 8 bit retro games anymore) and Mercenary Kings. I'm done with 8 bit retro games. Shovel Knight gave me my fix.
Currently playing Nex Machina which is freaking insane. After Nex, I have only six games left in my backlog. Forza Horizon 2 and 3, Ori, Ratchet & Clank (which is my planned game for September after Knack 2), I Am Setsuna (still waiting for it to hit $20 or less) and Stories: The Path of Destinies (which im going to use a guide for as I don't want to do each path more than once).
Hoping to have my backlog cleared by 2018 while at the same time, playing and completing the games for 2017. Thankfully, my next game isn't until August 15th with Matterfall. Of course, none of this includes the expansions for Mafia III, The Division, GRW and both Forza Horizon games.
Yep.....little by little. LOL.Comment

Re: I have a confession to make: I don't finish games..
Played and completed Nex Machina today. An 8/10 overall with a 9 in graphics, music/sound and gameplay. A 5/10 for story and characters which is honestly non-existent. What a great game though. Love Housemarque and can't wait for Matterfall on August 15th.
Slowly but surely, the backlog is being decreased.
