First I've heard of yet another part (The VR gun) you may need for VR.
Hopefully it's just an option and you can still use the MOVE controller for everything.

EDIT: You mean this thing? I have seen it and forgot about it.
    Spoiler

Thanks for the reminder though as IF that is a "Have to have" then I guess I'll try and pre-order one when I can...

Oh well... I always bite so guess this thing will cost me more in the long run than what I was planning... but again HOPEFULLY the move can be used for all things also and these other things are just optional.. (mainly because I already own everything except the charge station)
    We'll see...
Only game I know of that uses it is farpoint, the dev helped design it, and you either use that or the ds4. Not sure how needed it is, don't even think it has a release date or price yet.

I'm surprised we didn't see a move controller redesign, the psvr gun is 1:1 so I'm not sure why they didn't refresh move controllers with better sensors and ergonomics (analog sticks, easier to orient while blindfolded, etc).

Aren't the Move controllers already 1:1? That was their big selling point compared to the competition at the time.

Now I would not be surprised if there is a redesign next year, mainly for the USB charging port, etc..

Thought I saw some complaints recently, but maybe they were related to needing LOS with the controllers.

More than likely LOS, however, wasn't the reason there is a ball?

As well as it having predictive built in (the development tools) for LOS?

From what I read, it is not a limitation mainly on the tech, but how much care is put into the development of each game. Since some games perform fantastic, taking advantage of the predictive movement, etc., while others are not as invested, and make it look worse than it is.

Only complaints I've heard about the Move controllers is ergonomics. They must do something creative to prevent occlusion issues, I would have thought that would have been the #1 complaint with only one camera.

Not a fan because it limits developers from creating some really creative control schemes, but Sony said today all PSVR games are designed to use the DS4s first and then additional peripheral support is added.

No Move hardware is required for any title despite what current box art may say.

Edit: Yay, they recanted, games can outright require move controllers -http://www.theverge.com/2016/7/14/12...ck-controllers

I'm actually cool with this idea that all DS4s will operate VR games. If developers wish to add additional support such as the PS VR Aim Controller (ie Farpoint), then it's just another option to use.

I wonder why we haven't heard any support for the Move Support Sharp-Shooter that was available for the PS3? This gun had additional buttons that you could play with. Wonder if this will work too?

Edit: Actually reading the comments in the link, Impulse Gear confirmed it won't

                  Re: PS VR

Limiting the controller options would limit the opportunity to leverage cross-platform development (336 titles on Steam are Vive compatible). Stuff like this wouldn't even be considered for the platform if it had to require a DS4.

It just wouldn't even work well and lose all of it's charm, it's a fun little game to tinker with. Thankfully it requires 2 Move controllers, Sony has corrected their statement.

Very true. However, I'm sure devs will take notice of how many PS VR units will be sold. They will adapt to the larger base. Currently, the Vive and Oculus have pretty much sold around 100k units each. Give or take a little. I believe the PS Vr will sell much more.

                      Re: PS VR

It is up to developers to make themselves stand out and shine. As it should be. Same with Move games that were on the PS3. Some did a poor job, while others made a great use of the 1:1 and predictive movement.

I expect most FPS games to also have a scheme built in for that new shooter peripheral. It will more than likely be in the SDK. Good developers are not going to rest on the laurels. They are going to want to do some pretty creative things to 'stand out'.

                            Frontier
Announced today by Sony using Unreal Engine 4. It doesn't have a release date yet. Space and VR seems to be synonymous in the early going.

Some of you maybe around my age watched (on a black and white) and heard those infamous words, "One small step for man --- One giant leap for mankind". Could see this going into PS Now as a rental. Now we can experience the historic events of July, 1969 through the eyes of Neil Armstrong, Buzz Aldrin, and Michael Collins.

Also, rumor has it No Man's Sky is now 60fps (120fps reprojection PSVR) for the PS4 from a recent video that has 60fps in a text banner/bulletpoint. And all they showed so far was the PS4 versions off. If that is the case, it can surely be a lock for PSVR with an update down the road, since this was spotted earlier in the year at Hello Games when Sean Murray tweeted this image with the PS4 devkit.

He also mentioned the game would be 'a really good fit' for PSVR, but declined to comment on anything further in the past.

                                *fingers crossed*
