    Re: NES Classic Edition

FWIW, I went by a Gamestop today. Guy said they have gotten 1 , each week for the past 3 weeks. Asked him if they got any reason for the discontinuation of the NES mini. He said they were told Nintendo wants to move their production focus to the Switch and realize they can't meet the demand for the NES mini.

On ebay, all the NES Classics under $150 got pulled by the sellers. Only the international ones are under $200 now (with few exceptions).

Nintendo can't meet the demand for Switch either.

Discontinuing the NES CE is just leaving money on the table. Makes no sense. Same with Switch. Nintendo literally has thousands and thousands of consumers who want to buy either or both and they amazingly find a way to screw it all up.

I was just looking at what 3rd party sellers on Amazon were asking and those have jumped up to $300.

Yeah, aside from in a store it's probably the worst time to buy one now. Things need to settle after the news.

Logic has been flawed for a long time. Why does it surprise you so now? It's not really flawed logic, it's just that you don't know the why and it frustrates you and you resort to calling it flawed. But hey you got likes so that must mean something.

I don't think yesterday's announcements are a great source to back up your point. Of course they are going to say that yesterday.

It's been on the radar for 8 months.

You don't wait 8 months after release to tell people it was a limited release 8 months ago. You say that during original release.

                  Ummm......

Please show me anything from November, December, January, February, or March from Nintendo saying NES Classic was a limited release. Them saying it was limited AFTER they announced it would be discontinued does not count in the framework of your first comment which stated Nintendo looked out for their fans by extending it. You can't extend something that you never set an end date for...

You sound very uninformed right now. Don't even get me started on your second paragraph. Completely put of left field and makes no sense.

Of course they aren't. That wasn't my source. My source I mentioned a couple pages ago before yesterdays announcements.

@ExtremeDunkz please cite an earlier post where I said it was pointless to seek the source. If I hadn't seen it way back in September/October 16 prior to the release I wouldn't have said anything. If only I sought to prove the fact that it was a limited release then I might oblige, but I don't.

However it may be, it's apparent this was a part of Nintendo's strategy to get people interested in them, for whatever they may be planning. It's working i'd say however negatively it may appear.

Seems to me this was to get the masses hyped about old games. Now with the rumors of the Switches virtual console it makes sense. Are you going to make the Switch?

I'm confused. Are you really saying that you don't have to prove your facts even though no one recalls this fact?

So we are supposed to just buy your version of events because you don't feel obliged providing a source?

He probably started looking it up but couldn't find anything. But he'd already put it out there, so doubled down instead.

If it was limited then there wouldn't have been so much news about it being discontinued a month or two ago (which as we've seen turns out to have been more or less true).

Google is not hard. The only suggestion of it being limited is the supply not matching demand, it's not mentioned in any of the announcements for the system.

Nor is the console being limited mentioned in articles discussing it's success and sales.

Trying to keep tabs on where and when you can pick up Nintendo's NES Classic Edition has morphed into something of a cat and mouse…

Nothing on their website states it's only available for a limited time.

Get select DLCs for free, play games from classic consoles, and much more by signing up for a Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion membership. Learn more here.

Seems to be someone convinced themselves of something and now is stating it as fact (might want to be wary of the TOS btw). If it's true I'd absolutely love to see it, wouldn't you think it'd exist in one of the above sources?

I told my source pages ago. I worked for an electronics retailer which had release information. That was my source. Looking for my source on the internet would be pointless because I didnt see it on the internet.

Ohhh TOS? Scary. I didnt do anything wrong. This is a message board, not a English class in which I am required to cite my sources. Not to mention I told my source pages ago.

Anyway, I heard Nintendo stopped making them. Something about a limited production or something.

And to answer your question no. Your sources are blogs. Cite me an actual cog in the supply chain and I'd say you were on to something but blogs and advertising sites no.
