    Re: NES Classic Edition

For me it comes down to wanting to play Nintendo with my daughter. Playing an emulator on a PC won't give us the same experience I had with my dad growing up. This mini Nintendo will.

Even though I still have my original NES that works perfectly, I may also consider getting this as well. Really awesome idea and it appears the HDMI input will allow the game to not look terrible on a flat screen TV.

I still have an old floor swivel RCA TV from 1993 that I keep for my retro gaming.

I'm getting this for no other reason than the fact that I just simply want it and there are games on it that I don't have, or never played that I want to go back and play. The fact that this thing is $60 and finding and buying some of these classics will cost you anywhere from $15 to $30 if not more.
I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

Between my original console and Retron 5, I don't necessarily need this Classic Edition, but I'll still get it because I'm a sucker for these things.

I am leaning on getting this for the nostalgia factor alone. And it would look rather cool sitting next the current consoles not taking up any large space at all.

I still have 100's of cartridges, if it won't play them, it defeats the purpose.

Well, not really. If you still own 100s of cartridges this wasn't really designed for you to begin with. This is serving exactly its purpose... a little nostalgia throwback for the majority of people who didn't hang on to their collections all these years.

For the record... I would be ALL OVER Gameboy Classic Edition if Nintendo were so inclined to release one.

To play on a HDTV with HDMI was my purpose of having it, but if it's limited to 30 games and not cartridge compatible, you can't say it wasn't designed for me.

It's designed for fans and gamers and I'm both!!!!

But if I'm limited to those 30 titles just for HD, I can do that with a PC Emulator in 1080p.

Like I said, it might not fit YOUR purpose, but it perfectly fits the purpose it was built for. You have access to and understand PC Emulators; this product wasn't made for that crowd. Outside of it looking like a little Nintendo, I'm not sure why you would even want or need it.

I understand you not being interested due to its restrictions, but for every ROMer and collector out there, there will be multiple casual purchasers who get it for it's appearance and quick and easy throwback access to 30 classic titles. It was made for the general public, not the forum member who knows multiple other workarounds to play these games.

I'll bet I order for it to work properly, I have it hit the top of it, then open the flap and blow in it a few times.

It's hard though...especially when I got my neighbor playing their franchise across the street...maybe I will occupy myself with Glamore Magazine.

If you already own the console and games plus own them on emulator already at 1080P, why do you even care that this exists anyway?

It's tiny and I own all the other models too, I'm an obsessed collector! But it's cool, I'm done!!! I said my peace and every disagrees with me.

The mini-Genesis allows you to use original carts, although not all work. Nice to have that option, though. The NES toaster design makes doing this near-impossible when you shrink the model. If they'd have gone with the top-loader model, probably could've happened, but that's not the NES most people remember from their childhood, even if it was the better model.

I will be buying one yea it has only 30 games but don't have worry about them being all over place.
