Fixed. If games were to eliminate features, im pretty sure that the online aspects would be first and foremost on the list especially if the console's online capabilities end up lacking.

        Here's a serious question...

Does Nintendo need to release Zelda at launch in order for the console to get off to an excellent start?

I think they do. It's their main game that's been shown for two years or so and needs to be available at launch. $300 plus Zelda pretty much guarantees a purchase from me. No Zelda or price higher than $300 or both equals no purchase at launch.

        What do you guys think?

300 and Zelda on launch night and I'll be camping out like it's Black Friday waiting for this to launch . That would be awesome

I'm not sure if needs Zelda to have a good start, it may do fine without it at launch, but it definitely wouldn't hurt

Those are the kind of things that would be cut due to storage which won't be an issue for most. Lower RAM impacts things like AI, physics and textures.

Ahh yea that's right, dammit, still I think a slightly watered down game from the big 3rd parties is better then none.

Relatively, nothing is cheap when you're planning to make 10 million of something though

Think the RAM issue would be more about space and how much is available for developers to use as opposed to how much it will cost since higher costs is usually off-set by buying in bulk.

How are you going to play BF or Cod on the go if it doesn't have SP. I can imagine dealing with wifi to play those shooters online on the go won't be worth the trouble.

Valid point, I'm thinking more on the go in different parts of house, friends/family house, some other places. But yea not completely anywhere as connection speeds can be limited

Not sure how long third party will deal with having to water down their games to fit on these cartridges.

Might depend on types of cartridges they use, I am in no way an expert on this stuff but you can get SD cards for 32 gigs for like $10, so if the carts are of that nature you can store modern games on those things easily. Again idk how it works in terms of storage in comparison to playing from it, but if you can put a new game of say 27 gigs on a card/cartridge of this type and let the system play it from the cart/card then that would make storage capability built in irrelevant except for some updates and stuff

Ouch. It's like Nintendo wants to go back to the NES/SNES/N64 days where they were charging publishers for using "their" cartridges. 32GB for $10 compared to $2 for a 50GB Blu Ray Disc is hmmm, not good at all. The SD cards make sense because of the portable aspect but jeez, sometimes, I really wish Nintendo go all out and make a true home console. Give me SNES 2!!!! But completely modern and updated. Oh well. January 12th is in a way do or die day for Nintendo.
