No, it is for all purchases. I combine it with my family employee discount and get like 25% off everything.

That's awesome. My wife love shopping so I told her to just check Target when she goes this week.

I believe someone said Friday for Best Buy....is Target on same schedule for this or is this just a Best Buy thing.

Never really followed in store delivery and stocking.

I'll ask my GF who is the operations manager for the Target distribution for the South. She's a Nintendo nut so she probably already knows lpl.

I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

                  Re: Nintendo Switch Discussion

Sounds like the app out of the gate is a mess, screen has to stay on and you can't do anything else on the phone.

With the launch of Splatoon 2 also comes the release of Nintendo’s long-awaited online service app, which uses your phone to set up voice chat and party play for Nintendo’s online offerings. It sounded like a bad idea and it is a bad idea, at least so far.

Can only get better from here thankfully.
                  • The functionality is pretty barebones at this point. Splatoon 2 only lets you take part in private battles with friends right now, making the entire process barely worth it at all.
                  • You can only talk to players when you're in the waiting room of a game or the game itself, and nowhere else, despite the service running through your phone.
                  • Unlike almost any other chat app, if you swipe out of the app and back to your home screen or open a different app, you will lose the ability to voice chat.
                  • Not only does your Nintendo app have to stay open for voice chat to work, but your screen has to stay on, making this a substantial battery drain on your phone.
                  • In handheld mode with headphones this will require a bunch of cables and probably the kind of convoluted splitter we’ve seen from third party manufacturers already. I still don't know if you will be able to get game audio and voice audio at the same time even while using one of these.

It's also unfortunate is how there is no splitscreen multiplayer like there is in MK8D and ARMS.

I'm sure it'll be great and sell well but I'm actually skipping the game since I prefer playing shooters with friends and none of my friends have Switches yet (also the current state of online in the game is very underwhelming - no guarantee you get placed on the same team, voice communication done through phone app, etc.).
I don't have 2 switches, so that's out for me...figured you could have 2 on the same console, boooooo

                      That sounds like a mess.

I enjoy playing online in MK8; there's no need to chat with the other competitors, so you just pick your courses and race. A game like Splatoon that does involve strategy and cooperation amongst teammates, so having a good voice chat system is imperative.

Awesome man thanks. Will head to Target on Friday. Assume first thing in the AM is when they will have them on the shelf. Would be perfect for Friday, gives me time to get used to controls before all the sports titles drop.

How can Nintendo/Reggie actually say that they thought the app would be a better way for the customer to do chat? Like there's zero possible way this'll be better.

As of yet I'd have to buy a dongle since I always do sound through headphones...annoying.

We are talking about splatoon 2 for the switch right? I hope I didn't get confused and you were talking about the switch bundle that was mentioned ITT.

Really contemplating trading in 2 tablets, a 3DS xl and a new 3DS xl, all our 3DS games and about 8 WiiU games to get a second Switch. We never play the 3DS's any more, so why have them around?

Is this a completely stupid idea? If we travel anymore, we take the Switch...seems more the route to go for me. Even my wife said "that's the route that makes the most sense!"

It's not stupid, but could be a costly decison if a year from now you have an urge to play some 3DS games and you have to re-purchase a system and the games. Just be 100% sure you have no interest in playing the 3DS again before making a move like that.

I nearly traded in my Vita when GameStop had its trade-in bonus a couple of weeks ago, but decided against it because I couldn't say with certainty that I'd never use the handheld again.
