I agree it’s a sweet thing Nintendo has going and their pricing can be insulting at times. These old reissues work for me though, because Switch is my first Nintendo console since GameCube. So these are games I always wanted to try but couldn’t. And at the same time, knowing first party Nintendo software will hold its value helps ease things a bit. Especially seeing how quickly some games drop in price nowadays ( the new Battlefield and Fallout games come to mind.).

Re: Nintendo Switch Discussion
I picked up Tropical Freeze as well and am waiting on Mario + Rabbids to come in at Best Buy. I'm trying to find a physical copy of Sonic Mania Plus on sale before Christmas, but that doesn't seem likely. Giving a digital game at Christmas just feels weird.
I get the grind about the re-releases, but considering how well the Switch is doing I can't blame them and it gives a lot of us Switch owners the chance to play games we haven't had available to us.
I'm pumped for New Super Mario Bros, too. Hopefully Yoshi is given a date sometime next year because that looks great.

Fallout is back to 60 I think but ya...Nintendo games definitely hold value.Comment

Re: Nintendo Switch Discussion
DKC TF is a great 2D plat-former and one of the three Wii U games that I was hoping would get ported to Switch. Granted, it will be 5 years old in February but few played it so it makes sense for Nintendo to sell it for $60 barring a sale.
As someone who didn't own a Wii U and only owned a Wii for maybe a month if that, getting remastered ports is great as I haven't truly owned a Nintendo console since Gamecube.
DKC TF was the first of three Wii U games that I was hoping would get ported. Second will be SMBUD in January which will be a perfect in between filler game between RDR 2 and REmake2. All I need is SM3DW and im good. Would be surprised if Nintendo doesn't have a remaster in the works for that game.
Majority of Nintendo's exclusives don't really appeal to me but if I can get 1 or 2 Nintendo/third party exclusives a year, im good. Had Mario & Rabbids Kingdom Battle for 2017. DKC TF and Octopath Traveler (backlog) for 2018. SMBUD and hopefully Fire Emblem Three Houses for 2019.
The retail price stays high for Nintendo games but so does the trade in value which is great for me since I trade in games in general once I complete them so I personally can't complain.Comment

Re: Nintendo Switch Discussion
I already have it on PS4. Had it for like three years. Considered getting it on Switch but $40 is a load of ****.

I'm about 15 hours into Octopath and so far really enjoy it, and I'm admittedly not a big RPG fan.Currently Playing:

Games that were VGA-nominated are on sale in the eShop, too. One of the rare times you'll see Mario Odyssey under full price. Skyrim at $29.99 is probably the best deal of the bunch, although NBA 2K19 and FIFA 19 at $34.99 aren't bad, either.Currently Playing:

Re: Nintendo Switch Discussion
I keep thinking that'll be the case. Feel like it could be a Rise of the Tomb Raider situation where it's positioned as a console exclusive for a bit, and then details come out later about it being a timed exclusive. Even with the Switch having a large install base, hard to believe Marvel wouldn't want to draw in Sony and Microsoft gamers as well with the game.Currently Playing:
