Re: Nintendo Switch Discussion
Xbox has that now? In the Marketplace? I do really like that feature on the eShop; helps me track games I want to play and also I don't have to sift through pages and pages of games to see if the ones I want to play are on sale or not.Currently Playing:

Re: Nintendo Switch Discussion
It's kind of a gift and a curse. Up until last year really, I was basically an Xbox gamer outside of exclusives for the other systems. These days I play them all. I'm really digging the Switch right now. It's crazy how it can turn a ho hum Saturday into fun family time. I just preordered Super Mario Bros Deluxe and traded in Pokemon Tournament (I actually got like 30$ bucks for it) for Donkey Kong Tropical Freeze. Adding those games to Zelda BOW, Odyssey, MK8, Sonic Mania and Smash Bros I feel like I have the definative Switch experience. My son also loves Fortnite, Warframe, Playgrounds 2 and Shaq Fu. I don't know if it will remain the case but the Switch is getting a lot of mileage out of our household.

Re: Nintendo Switch Discussion
Kingdom Battle was a great game and for me personally, the best Switch game of 2017. Not only that but it did something that hasn't been done since Far Cry 3 - get me interested into a genre that I had zero interest in. That being turn based strategy RPG's and first person shooters. Two great games.
For those who are struggling with deciding on what game to play, my suggestion would be to pick one, preferably a shorter game and stick with it until you finish it. Playing different games at the same time simply doesn't work and will most likely lead to a massive backlog eventually.Comment

Re: Nintendo Switch Discussion
Is there some special trick to charge Joy cons or turn them on the switch? They were chargining fine and went to turn it on after a few days of no use. Switch is 100% Joy cons are dead and didn't charge overnight either.
Edit: I just exchanged my Switch. I bought new Joy Cons and they worked, but who knows if they die if the Switch would charge them. Had 12 days still to return so I went ahead.

Re: Nintendo Switch Discussion
Backlogs are kryptonite....thankfully I've reached a point where I don't let it bother me and realize there are probably games I won't play at all and I'm ok with that. Lol it wasn't easy though...
I do have some what of a backlog on the Switch but I'm working through it...
TBH I've almost become a Switch only player and really turn on the Pro or X for exclusives or games that aren't on the Switch.Patrick Mahomes > GodComment

Re: Nintendo Switch Discussion
Both are great games. Mario + Rabbids should be fairly inexpensive now and that is a fun game, too. Honestly, you can't go wrong with any of the Mario games.
Speaking of which, I had to take a break from Rabbids. The last level is quite significantly more difficult than the rest of the game. On my initial run through of each level I've been perfecting each combat encounter. Some of these in the last level, while difficult, are ultimately manageable even if you have to retry them several times. The two or three fights in a row mechanic was a little hokie, but nothing too ridiculous.
Now, I'm at the very end against BAMF Dragon Bowser and just getting crushed. I had to switch my lineup to the max-healers and am still getting wrecked.
Before I got entirely frustrated I decided to take a break and start Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze. What a blast that game is. The art is beautiful and the levels are classically designed. So far (I'm on the second world) nothing feels outrageously difficult. Some levels will come down to that classic platforming memorization, but it's been a lot of fun so far.

Fantastic game. One world three world now. Perfectly captures everything I remember the Donkey Kong games to be.Comment

Re: Nintendo Switch Discussion
Those waiting for the new Metroid will have to wait whole lot longer. Nintendo scrapped all progress to start over from scratch. Retro Studios is now back on board though.
Cool.
The game did a good job introducing some neat new things in worlds 2 and 3. Look forward to what awaits.Comment

Re: Nintendo Switch Discussion
Never cared for Metriod Prime but I am just so glade to know that Retro studios is not dead though I thought they had went down under with having like no news about them for so long. It was driving me more nuts than any thing in video games. Retro lives got to wonder what they have been doing the last 5 years though.Comment
