It looks that way. Hyrule Warriors Age of Calamity is the game that's getting the most hype from Nintendo leading into the holiday season.

Is the price of the switch going to have any sort of drop in the next year or so? From what I've read, it's been the same price from the start?

Let's go Pikachu sounds like a fun game to have, but obviously not worth getting a switch for a single game, even if that game might provide lots of fun. Just cant justify paying close to $500CDN for a console to play 1 game.

I don't see a price drop happening anytime soon. You could look at a Lite for $199. Handheld-only, but still saves you money. I prefer it over the OG Switch in terms of comfort.

If you pay mostly by yourself. I would say yes. If you play others locally obviously OG is the way to go.

Demo for Hyrule Warriors Age of Calamity is out. You can play the first chapter and that progress will carry over to the retail version.

Waiting on my copy to download. Once it does and I have some time to check out the gameplay, I'll check back with some impressions.

Hoping my Pikmin pre-order shows up tomorrow! We have the day off from school and my wife and I want to get some Days worked out in co-op. Did the Demo as far as it can go.

Pikmin is by far her favorite game.

It took me a few tries to get into Breath of the Wild. I finally did a few years ago and beat the game. I loved it. I didnt know what Hyrule Warriors was but it details the Calamity of Breath of the Wild; it's basically a prequel to me. I'm enjoy the demo so far. I think I'm gonna grab this once it comes out. It's significantly faster than Breath of the Wild (its Hyrule Warriors gameplay) and I like it. I'm more engaged in the game because I knows what's to come.

Breath of the Wild is one of my all-time favorite games. This game is a hack-and-slash, which can be fun in short bursts. The previous Warriors game I played did get repetitive after a while, so I'm hoping the story/narrative elements that have been included in Age of Calamity keep the game fresh as you progress through it.

I'll be doing another BOTW playthrough after this game, too.

It's a cool concept and looks fun from the videos I've watched, but I just know for me, the novelty would wear off quick. I'll just stick with regular Mario Kart.

And that probably the second reason I keep backing out. I know it would burn out pretty fast in such a situation. If I had a big ol home. And a place I could build a nice track it would be totally worth it.

I see this as a huge esports chance. But I don't know if it will stick. The idea is amazing. Reminds me of drone racing.

Meaty demo. Chapter 1 took me over an hour to play. Gameplay is what you expect it to be for a Warriors game; hack and slash, fast action with some strategy baked in.

This has all of the elements from BOTW; sound, graphics, voices it really feels like a full-fledged Zelda game and I see why Nintendo has been heavily promoting the game.

And the story elements are here it would appear, which is great! For those that thought story was lacking in BOTW, I think Age of Calamity is going to make up for that, based on what I saw in the demo.

Absolutely grabbing the retail version on launch.

Started playing the demo to hyrule warriors age of calamity tonight for a little less than 2 hours. Its a lot of fun there is a lot more to the combat then I was expecting and seeing some of those locations again from botw and getting more of the backstory is great. I am looking forward to the final game and the fact that the save file cares over from the demo to the final game is great. I have not beaten the demo yet.

So the wife has shown interest in getting a switch. I see that with the console you get only one of the screens. Do I have to buy a whole console to get a second screen? How does the while in-home multiplayer work like if I was trying to play Mario Kart or NBA 2K?

That's what the dock is for (as long as you don't get a Lite edition). Just plug it in the dock, which is hooked up to the TV, and now it's like any traditional console for local multiplayer.
