Re: Nintendo Switch Discussion
Nintendo has sent out new data about Switch, revealing the most played games on Switch since launch based on data collected from North America. The regular heavy first-party hitters like Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Super Mario Odyssey are naturally towards the top of the list. Other games such as Stardew Valley, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, The Binding...Comment

Re: Nintendo Switch Discussion
So it looks like if I'm exchanging a Switch at Best Buy I need to deactivate the console and accept that I'll lose the game saves that are on internal memory, and we're good to go re-downloading games once I sign into the new one, right? Will the microSD have to be formatted or anything?
Since our worst damage is to a Joycon (which is no longer charging after my son broke it) I might just buy a set of Joycons for the time being and wait before cashing in my Geek Squad warranty. We're also missing the pads on the sticks and the kickstand, but that's relatively minor stuff.Comment

Yes, you obviously lose your game saves on internal memory, but you will also lose game saves that are on the SD card. The new console will know that the SD card was used on another switch and will force you to delete everything on it (yep, it sucks).
And lastly, you will be able to re-download your digital library from the store once you sign in.
Just went through this over the holidays.

Re: Nintendo Switch Discussion
I didn't think you could save game saves on a SD card in the first place but if that is really true then having a SD card is like pointless and man Nintendo really needs to get there act together. The fact there is no way to keep saves if your system has issues is just stupid. If I have issues at some point and have to lose my like 40+ hours of Mario, 190+ hours of Zelda and 65+ hours of splatoon 2 I am going to be so mad.
Yeah I couldn’t imagine losing my Zelda save. That would be back breaking gaming wise.Comment

Re: Nintendo Switch Discussion
OK, so I've talked before about the Mummy Demastered and that it's a good eShop title. If you're looking for a Metroidvania-style game, this definitely scratches that itch.
Unfortunately, I've now stumbled upon a major problem with the game.
I was playing last night and making my way to a new part of the map when I met my demise. When you die, you go back to the last save room you accessed, lose all of your weapon and health upgrades and have to fight a zombie version of yourself (that is at full health and full weapon power) to get your weapons and health back.
It's pretty easy to get those upgrades back early on, but now that I'm near the end of the game? Good luck! Enemies are much harder now so trying to get through 6-10 rooms with a pea-shooter and no way to upgrade it, and one health bar (I had 3) is a joke. By the time I can meet up with my zombie version, I'm hit with all the C4, gernades, flamethrowers, etc., that I was carrying. It's like a boss battle on steroids. Three attempts and three deaths, meaning there's now 4 zombie versions of me in 1 room. I'll never take them all down.
Oh, and the game auto-saves the second you die, so tip for those playing the game that don't want to deal with this is to quit the game before you die. Yes you'll have to replay parts again, but it's better than the alternative.
It's been a long time that I've wanted to break something in frustration after playing a video game, but last night nearly sent me over the edge.
I'm going back to playing Mario, Kirby and Yoshi games after this, lol.Currently Playing:

Re: Nintendo Switch Discussion
For me the portable aspects have made it amazing. I would like for more of the top games on it, but I would strongly consider those on the Switch if I could.
I am also a dad of young kids so rarely/never get alone time with the main tvs. The kids tend to wake up 7:30ish every day, so up getting bottles or watching the ones awake while big brother sleeps a bit more. We get them to bed by 7-8ish, but the older one sometimes takes an hour or two to sleep, so by then i'm not getting back up to game, that's DVR time...
I get that if you have ability to use PS4/Xbox all the time then the switch isn't as alluring. Especially if you never travel (sadly I do now for work every few months so this is amazing).Nintendo Switch Friend Code: SW-7009-7102-8818Comment

Nintendo Switch Discussion
The Dark Souls Remastered announcement is enough for me to buy a Switch now.
Edit: Looks like it’s being confirmed for PS4 and XBOX 1 now as well...Last edited by TexasFan2005; 01-11-2018, 10:55 AM.Comment

Re: Nintendo Switch Discussion
The more Wii and WiI U remasters the better. I missed all of em the first time around. Most definitely will be buying Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Breeze.
Also interested in Kirby and Mario Tennis, along with the Mario Odyssey and Mario + Rabbids DLC. I really do need to start both those games soon. I’ve become so bad at starting new games recently. Too large a commitment, lol.
Did however start Blossom Tale the other night so I’m not a total lost cause just yet.Comment
