    E3 2017 - Electronic Arts Discussion Thread

Welcome to the Electronic Arts E3 2017 Discussion Thread. Here, all of us can discuss what's listed below as well as the actual conference itself.

    Full E3 2017 Press Conference Schedule -

    ELECTRONIC ARTS
    Saturday June 10th, 2017
    3:00pm EST / 12:00pm PST

    Officially announced games -
    • Please note that while EA has confirmed all of these as being at E3, they have not confirmed that all will be up on stage.
    • Star Wars Battlefront II
    • FIFA 18
    • Madden NFL 18 (expect a lot from this due to the new engine and multiple new modes)
    • NBA LIVE 18
    • "The latest Need for Speed experience" (it seems to be based in Las Vegas)
    • The Sims Mobile
    • The Sims 4
    • Battlefield 1: In the Name of the Tzar
    • New content from Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes
    • New content for Titanfall 2
    • Madden NFL Mobile
    • NBA LIVE Mobile
    • EA SPORTS FIFA for Nintendo Switch

    Teased/rumored games -
    • Hazelight's new game has been teased for E3. Hazelight is the development team that was behind Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons back when they were at Starbreeze. We saw a preview of it featuring two men on a train.
    • BioWare's new IP was originally slated to unveil at E3. The game has since been delayed for an unknown amount of time, and it is no longer clear if it will be debuted there.

    Additional notes -
    • EA has an "EA Originals" publishing initiative featuring indie games targeting 3-4 release as year. Known titles for this initiative include Unravel 2, Fe, Sea of Solitude, and the above mentioned Hazelight game. It's plausible they will show more than one title from this branch.
    • While Visceral's Star Wars game has been in development for quite a while, it's not due to be out until Fall 2018, so don't hold your breath for a new showing unless EA feels they really need more out of their conference.
    • While Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare 3, Titanfall 3, Respawn's Star Wars game, the next Battlefield, Dragon Age 4, and Motive's new IP open world game all appear to be in development, none of them seem likely to unveil here, so if you're only here for one of those, it's probably not worth it.
    • EA usually has a segment about their esports division at their event. I can't imagine this year will be any different.
    • EA will have a 20 vs 20 player Battlefront 2 livestream of the "Assault on Theed" prequel trilogy map featuring your favorite YouTubers, Twitch Streamers, and more. No word on if this will include celebrities.
    • Nas and other musical guests will be present for a concert, but I'm not sure if that's part of the livestream.

You can watch via Twitch or via YouTube. I normally watch the publisher's official channel on YouTube when it's time for their E3 Press Conference stream. Sites like IGN, GameSpot, etc. will also be streaming all the press conferences.

Re: E3 2017 - Electronic Arts Discussion Thread

        Predictions -

        - Fe (gameplay video and release date)
        - FIFA 18 / FIFA switch (gameplay video, fall 2017)
        - Madden NFL 2018 (gameplay trailer, august 22nd)
        - NBA Live 18 (debut trailer, short gameplay video, fall 2017)
        - Need For Speed (gameplay video, November 10th)
        - NHL 18 (gameplay video, fall 2017)
        - Star Wars: Battlefront II (gameplay video, november 14th)
        - Visceral Games Star Wars (debut trailer, short gameplay video, late 2018)

EA may also debut BioWare's new IP codenamed "Dylan" but after the recent debacle surrounding MEA by EA, I think that they hold this for next year's conference. The Visceral Games/Motive (Amy Hennig/Jade Raymond) led Star Wars game is what im really hoping to see. Still pissed about Star Wars 1313 being cancelled a few years ago.

At least we're getting one of the crap conferences/shows out of the way early.

Hahaha. Yeah, EA is 6th on my list and while I'll be watching it later today, it's only because im hoping they show gameplay of Visceral's/Motive's Amy Hennig/Jade Raymond third person Star Wars game as it's probably the closest I'll get to the cancelled Star Wars 1313 game.

If I had to guess, that's their main piece next year. I wouldn't expect much from it this year especially with Battlefront II being there.

Yeah, this will probably be the case but im hoping they show Battlefront 2 to open the show because it's this year and then end with Amy's game with a Fall 2018 release date shown on screen. Either way, worse case scenario, I have something to look forward to from EA at next year's E3.

Hoping Battlefront 2's story is as good as the old 501st.

                          My thoughts -

                          - Need For Speed: Payback looks good and seems like a Fast and the Furious type game but during gameplay, it seems like all the best parts that the player should be doing is cinematic.

                          - BioWare's new IP Anthem (previously code named Dylan) was revealed and it seems good. Full gameplay reveal tomorrow at Microsoft's press conference as Microsoft has the marketing deal for the game.

                          - A Way Out looks real good and I love the idea and concept but sadly, you can't play solo whatsoever which is disappointing. Oh well.

Happy that EA was on it's own day and first. I'm expecting a lot more and better stuff from the remaining four conferences.

Mill said he has been hearing a lot of Burnout comparisons when talking about Need For Speed, could definitely see it in the trailer.
