Switch has the unique ability to make me want to play games I would otherwise skip. Never played a Pokémon game before, yet here I am wanting to try it out when released. Same goes for Xenoblade 2. Never was much of a JRPG guy, but plan to pick that game up over the holidays.
Kirby, Yoshi, and a new Metroid in the future to look forward to is great. And let's not forget Mario Odyssey. Which looks bananas!
Yeah, kinda betrays the marketing that perhaps they overplayed given how they're actually handling some of these decisions.
Anyways, if Nintendo released a non-portable at half the price of a Switch I'd buy everything they showed today.
Instead, son is getting a 3DS XL for his birthday. First Nintendo console in the house since the Wii, last Nintendo console I owned prior to that was the SNES.
Just got done watching Nintendo's E3. I know most people are not going to agree but there E3 was a disappointment to me. I am like the only person who grew up in the 90's and never cared for pokemon and I never cared for Metroid prime was hoping retro was doing either a new dk game or a new IP. Mario oddyss looks awesome though and glad we got a date for it and glad to get a date for Zelda dlc 1 and a tease for the 2nd one and that the 1st one is only a few weeks away. With that said even though I don't care for pokemon and Metroid prime I do know that is going to help the switch sale for sure and the fact that in its first year we have either gotten or heard about a new Zelda, Metroid, Mario and Pokémon should mean that the switch is a success and not just wii u again. Any way now to watch the tree house stuff. Also with retro doing Metroid I wonder what that means for DK my 2nd favorite Nintendo franchise behind Zelda.
Just watched the Nintendo spotlight. Amazingly but not surprisingly, there's more games that I want for Switch than I want for Xbox One. All I have to do is you know, find a Switch. LOL.

I feel the same way. I originally pre-ordered the Switch and then ended up canceling and trading for an XBox One. It's been a good system too, but damn, I feel myself wanting to play a bunch of these upcoming Switch games. Nintendo did a fine job this E3 and much better than the last few.
To the person who said they wish Retro wasn't working on Metroid, they aren't. They brought in a new team to do Metroid, so hopefully Retro is doing a new 3D DK game.
The one Switch game I'm really hoping for is a new Luigi's Mansion. If it happens and I still haven't gotten a Switch, that will put me over the hump!

I don't think it's a matter of if, but when. Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon for 3DS did really well both commercially and critically, and Next Level Games is working on a Switch game.

I agree. Never played a Pokémon game and really not into JRPG's, but the Switch has me excited for both.

Nintendo really had a nice showing today.
I tried a pokemon game years ago but I'd reconsider on a Switch now...same for the other games, I'll definitely check them out. The portability/couch ability is nice...
Plus Metroid is just Metroid...that should be killer eventually.
