    Gaming Chairs

Hey Guys, looking to get my son a gaming chair for Christmas this year. Anyone have one they recommend? $250.00 is my cap for this. Any input would be appreciated. Thanks

Staples have some for $150 on sale. Normal price is around $200. Now they don't have all the functionality of a high end traditional gaming chair, but hey it looks like one. I believe they are Staples brand.

      Re: Gaming Chairs

Nah been researching some the last couple of weeks.

Staples don't offer good chairs. My standard leather office chair isn't that great, so yeah i've looked around for cheaper ones quite a bit, watched videos and surfed the web quite a bit.

Seems they're becoming more popular so they're out there in abundance, however, you can get a really nice one a lot cheaper than 250.

Doesn't have to be a DX Racer because plenty of companies offer the same quality now, to be honest. I kinda narrowed mine down to a few now, but of course, it only matters what you want.

Check amazon and search through the high back gaming chairs, then look at comp. prices on ebay. There are a few companies that you can buy from.

Make sure you check the width of the seat, because those 14 inch width seats are only good for thin/smaller frame guys. The average person's legs will always be pinned on those side bars..but then again there are some that aren't bucket seat types as well.

Go to a real office supply store(not staples) and buy a used executive chair. "Gamer" chairs are generally junk, anything from Staples is junk, anything from the brand Basix is junk.

Personally I like the Hon mesh back chairs. I assume you'll be sitting in it often, give your back a treat and buy something nice.

I work for a Office supply company and I got a Hon 5000 series executive chair. It was missing an arm when It came in so I bought it for $30, I knew we had another another of the same chair in the warehouse that was also broken so I bought that one for $5. I pretty much got a $500 chair for $35. I'm not saying you gotta spend crazy money but you can get a real nice chair for $250, your butt will appreciate it.

Yep I write for a couple of sports sites and this Staples chair is garbage. Cushion didn't last long it's been counterproductive many days, that's why im done with that store.

I just can't do a cheap mesh chair though (not talking HON), the kind they sell in staples. You'll have to get a high end chair for that heavy support with those types of chairs.

Sat in one though at a friends place, and man was it noice. Not sure where he got it but I know it costs because that chair was the business sitting in it all day and night long.

The HON Ignition mesh back chairs are crazy comfortable to me, that's what I use at work. If my current chair were to crap out, that is what I would get in a second. I wouldn't even bother looking at anything else.

A sales rep from my company sold 20 "gaming chairs" to a tech start up a few years ago, after about 2 years they were back in looking at different chairs. It's better to just avoid anything that has neon colors in it.

In his case is it for a kid though?

              Might be overkill

I have a bad back, so I splashed out and bought a DX Racer.

                  Very highly recommended.

Yes, costs a bit more than your budget.

But.......it will last ten years plus. For a bad spine, that is a decade of benefit.
