I could see the rumors of left over storage being around 620+GB being true with how much OS and stuff is being reserved. For me, it doesn't matter. I focus on one game at a time. There's games I know when I'm done, I'm done. I never had an issue with storage space since the start of PS3 days. I don't see myself ever buying expandable storage.

Ummmm ok lol.. I use my Apple TV 4K for streaming most of my stuff. So you’re ok with both consoles running Netflix in HDR at all times even when the movies or programs aren’t in HDR? Or how the PS4 doesn’t support Dolby vision or Dolby atmos? Or how consoles are the last to ever get updated? Or how consoles stream at lower bit rates? I can continue. Consoles are the last things anyone should use for streaming IF they want the best quality and experience.

Personally, I’ve never noticed a single thing you mentioned or have a clue what you even are referring to for most of your post. I don’t watch much TV and not much of a console gamer, so literally never knew that until you guys said that. Glad I can enjoy it regardless lol.Comment

Re: New PlayStation 5 Details Revealed, Arrives Next Holiday Season
Storage isn't really an issue for me either. I always have the current year of 2K, Madden and The Show and a shooter like COD or Battlefield. The rest is just a rotation of single player games that I usually delete afterwards. I'm keeping my Pro and Base PS4 as well so I'll keep the backwards compatible games like Crash 4 on those and save the space.

I plan on buying Spiderman Miles Morales Ultimate Edition. But, I plan on selling it after a year or sooner. I prefer single player games, but they don't have the same replay ability as sports games.Comment

Re: New PlayStation 5 Details Revealed, Arrives Next Holiday Season
PS5 having low storage is a huge issue, just because some of you claim you play just 1 or 2 games. That is a major minority
PS5 and XSX owners both will need to buy external storage
One huge advantage that XSX has which I do not think PS5 has is that you do not have to buy an SSD as you can just use your current external drive to play all bc games and store all your games and move them to the internal drive when you want to play them which takes about less then 10 minutes compared to downloading them all over again.Comment

Re: New PlayStation 5 Details Revealed, Arrives Next Holiday Season
I can definitely say I'm in the minority. I do not consider my self a hardcore gamer at all. But I can definitely see the concern with storage. A few huge games on your SSDs and you're SOL. If a BC isn't optimized for next gen, it makes more sense to play it on a external drive.
But, we still have to remember that PS5 has modular installations. Sony hasn't really talked about it since last year. I guess they are waiting until next UX reveal. When they state that Available storage is most likely in the 600sGB and there's an uproar, I think they will then talk about modular installations. For me, an solo offline player, If I can save storage by only installing portions of game I play, that's a game changer. I don't play CoD, but If I could only download the Campaign, that would save tons of storageComment

The PS5 allows external harddrives. We just dont know if you can store PS5 games on it as well. It is assumed you can.MLB: Texas Rangers
Soccer: FC Dallas, Fleetwood Town
NCAA: SMU, UTA
NFL: Dallas Cowboys
NHL: Dallas Stars
NBA: Dallas Mavericks

Yeah there’s no huge advantage to Xbox in storage department. I would even argue the PS5 has the better solution as its internal and just as easy to install as Xbox’s plug and play drive.Comment

Re: New PlayStation 5 Details Revealed, Arrives Next Holiday Season
I thought I read that you can’t actually swap out the internal hard drive on a PS5. You have to use the external storage slot if you want to add more storage.Comment

Re: New PlayStation 5 Details Revealed, Arrives Next Holiday Season
Correct, the PS5 hard drive is soldered on.

Re: New PlayStation 5 Details Revealed, Arrives Next Holiday Season
The main internal SSD is literally soldered onto the motherboard and isn't going anywhere. The SSD expansion bay is where you can insert an additional SSD for additional storage space but Sony has yet to release the official list of which SSD's are compatible.Comment

Internal in my sense was meaning inside the casing vs outside the casing.Comment

Re: New PlayStation 5 Details Revealed, Arrives Next Holiday Season
But on XBOX you can bet that next to the console at stores the external solution will be offered and is just plug and play. Not take apart your console I mean come on nowComment

You lift a damn corner and slide it. Stop acting like you have to disassemble the console. Go watch the tear down video if you’re still confused. You always so negative brother. Lol.Comment
