Not bloat per se, but good beef.

I don't need a lot of games. I like the idea of versatility and smaller companies getting their in here and there, but if that particular game isn't out there then I simply won't buy it. On the flip side, if it's not expansive enough or doesn't give me that lasting appeal then I likely won't buy it either, so the 12 hour experience is not anywhere near worth $70 for me. I know a lot of other people feel the way you do, though.

All I really want is less on the DLC front. Give us the full experience to start with, and fix what is absolutely broken or provide free updates as desired.
I'm okay with it since I primarily rent games. I only buy games I'm sure in going to play for an extended time. I use Gamefly. I would love PSNow to really step it up and I would invest in that as well

      Makes sense from your perspective.

I also wish sports games released every two years, with only a roster/stadium/uniform update in-between. I don't think they're really allowed to do that if they have a license though. At least The Show got it right to be able to import old franchise files (there are some hiccups with it, but it makes it more enticing to get the next version).

Don't mind the jump to $70. Games have been $50 or $60 since SNES with some games being $80 due to the cartridges. So to go 25+ years, getting majority of games cheaper than what they should have been easily makes up for paying $10 more now.

Plus, this allows me to be a little more selective with my 50/50 games instead of always leaning towards giving the game a chance. Now, I'll do more research to truly see if the game is worth $70.

I honestly was expecting $80 so them probably being $70 across the board is still $10 cheaper than what I was expecting.

Ill probably be going with gaming subscription services from now on, it'll save me money. For example, TLOU2 I got for $70 already to get the avatar and background. 20 hours later and I now wont ever be playing it again.

The avatar and background is unimportant, so Id rather spend $5-10 for the subscription service, play it, and save the $60-65 exact id have spent by buying the game.

It’s difficult to believe the video games cost too much money to make argument when you look at the profit from all of these companies.

For me it just raises the bar for what games I'll spend 70$ on. I only pay full price for a handful of games every year, anyway. Games that I know I enjoy like NBA2K, The Show and console exclusives are still guaranteed. But games like Mortal Kombat and Assassin Creed will have to really blow me away to get me to spend 70$ on them. I'm not against it, but I have Game Pass and EA Play, and the playstation store usually has a decent sale every month so I won't be without quality games to play. I guess it was bound to happen eventually as game prices haven't changed in like 15 years or so.

Ebgames in Canada (Toronto) still can’t do pre-orders for 2k21 mamba edition for PS5....

You guys in the States have any luck yet ?

Re: New PlayStation 5 Details Revealed, Arrives Next Holiday Season

There are rumors that Sony might reveal the price and pre-order details about the PS5 on July 13. I'm not focused on that date, but I can see it happening this month. Yeah Sony and Microsoft is playing chicken with the price. But with this whole pandemic and reports about having less consoles around launch, I think it'll be important to start pre-orders this month so they can gauge how many consoles they will need around launch. My ideal price would be $400 Digitial $500 Physical. I'm just ready to pre-order console now since I already saved up money for it. While I didnt get the console at launch last 3 generations, I'm comfortable with buying it at launch. I'm not worried with having enough games because of BC. My only worry is any technical issues with console at launch. There have been issues with the first batch of consoles at launch past several generations. But that's what warranties are for. I'm just hoping for a Best Buy pre-order and that it starts on my day off because I see it running out quick. I would be interested in an All Black console or a different color, but at end of day I'm don't care what color console is as long as it runs fine and cool.

I feel we will have another PlayStation event this month. I think we will get the PS5 hardware teardown next. I think it'll be the teardown, software features, and tech demos. Then in August we get more game reveals. I expect them to go more in depth with Backwards Compatibility some time..

I'd like to see if there will be another handheld at some point, or how the Vita can be integrated with the console for Remote Play.

I'm not expecting pre-orders and price for either console until late August at the earliest unless one of them jumps the gun but if they do, they risk being undercut.

Overall, I am excited for next gen. I pretty much was done with current-gen when I sold my consoles at the end of last year. I do feel that there will be a next gen leap as far as overall games. While graphically 7th to 8th gen saw big improvements and games got bigger, I don't think there was a huge leap between 7th to 8th gen as far as the overall scope of games and overall experience. I do think that the SSDs, stronger CPU/GPU, and Audio will allow games to take that next step. I think both consoles really want to immerse you into games this generation. I was satisfied with current gen visuals. I want that next gen experience.

I don't think we will see the mid-gen refreshes this time around. The consoles aren't coming in weak CPUs and aren't going to struggle to hit 4k like this gen was struggling to hit 1080P at launch. They already future-proofed graphics by having 8k output(though likely not native 8k) even though I dont see 8k being mainstream until at least late this gen. Part of the allure of mid-gen refreshes was 4k gaming and better performance. I don't see 8k being mainstream anytime soon especially 8k gaming. With the consumer being able to buy expandable storage for next-gen consoles, thats another thing that doesn't require a mid gen refresh. I definitely slim model and special editions, but I dont see a need for Pro versions this time around.

I gotta determine whether there will be a PS5 Pro or not. Once I got my PS4 Pro, my PS4 hardly got any play time at all. It's sitting in the other room right now, and I only plugged it in once for my sister's boyfriend when he was here. Otherwise I'm just using my Pro in my bedroom.

No need for me to double-dip. I'd rather wait it out and get recurring titles to get their feet wet, have a strong library, and work on my PS4 backlog a little (hell, maybe even my PS3 backlog).

There are incentives for me to want to upgrade early, but I'll see how long I can refrain. I got the PS3 a year and a half after release I believe, and the PS4 over a half year after release. Can I wait it out 2.5 - 3.5 years? Ehh, with the powerful PC that I have, I just might!

Don't see a pro no reason for it 8k is way far off maybe ps6 or maybe even ps7 for 8k. So yeah no reason for it if 4k was not taking off likely we would have never gotten a pro.

How about 4K/60 FPS for all games? I'm sure there may be other things here and there that it does better, but I don't really know what.
