So PS5 will have no cheaper alternative? I'm not getting either console until summer 2021 at earliest (if not summer, it'll be either Christmas 2021 or summer 2022, assuming I'm even interested still by then since I've been off video games for most part for years).

I wonder which one would be best to get since all I really care to play are sports games. Not sure if custom music is still a thing or not for these sports games.

Presumably the digital PS5 will be cheaper, we don't know how much cheaper though. Sony's approach appears to just be to remove the drive. Microsoft's approach is to lower the hardware requirements and target a different market segment with their lower priced SKU.

Which one would be better to get? If the main difference is just lack of harddrive, obviously that would mean less ability to purchase used games, and I'd imagine older games won't be too cheap even when the next years game is out?

For the PS5? Its the disc drive that's been removed.

I feel we have things to learn about the value proposition of their two still. Bundled accessories or something.

I'm really hoping I can pre-order through Amazon so I don't have to actually pay till it ships. I want to sell my PS4 and One X and put the money towards it.

Or I may opt for the financing if I can get approved for it.

But if when pre-orders start, and you have to slap down the whole $500, I'll be out of luck and have to hope I get lucky on release day somehow.

I hate seeing people use “rent to own” to describe this financing deal. It’s the complete opposite with 0% financing. I look at it as kore of when I upgrade my phone or tablet through Verizon.

Yeah, that's exactly how it is on PC, right?

I don't play video games anymore, haven't bought a game in probably 6 years so I don't know what things are like lol.

This will probably be the first time I don't go with the Xbox unless MLB The Show comes in the first year which is the only game I play or have time for nowadays.

Excited though, always love new console generations, looking forward to more PS5 news.

I wish. But not really a necessity for me at this time. Ps4 can last 1more year

                          just love gaming

Thinking The S fir me. Only play a few MS exclusives, so saving $200 makes sense to me. I have Game Pass for next 2+ yrs, so might ride it out with new system. Otherwise, PS5 for other gaming. Now the debate for me is disk or no disk.

When is the last time you bought a disk?
