I've seen a bunch of videos online of it in action, but that price is insane.

Getting a Steam Deck, but that's as far as I go with these mobile platforms.

      $1000-$1500 for a handheld is a non-starter.

Agreed The Steamdeck is the way to go especially for its price.. & if I recall correctly it also has the better technology & loads of great games at launch the Steamdeck is worth the price! Can't wait to get mine next week!!!

I pre ordered the day they opened it up to everyone after the 72 hour window in which steam members had 1st dibs at pre ordering so as far as I know I should be able to complete my order next week...

Though I should receive it next month for sure...

Yeah, i only got in after an hour or so of trying, so Q2 2022 for me. Kinda wish I'd purchased the nicer one, but since it'll probably mostly be a streaming handheld for me not that big of a deal.

I went with 512gb model. Are you guys planning on installing windows on yours? I'll for sure wait and see how well it does, but I would think game compatibility would be better on windows.

No I'm keeping the steam OS on it no need for me to use windows when I have windows on my PC.. kinda crazy people would spend all that $$$ just to put windows on it..

Isn't Steam OS Linux? I'm just curious how well some of these AAA titles will perform on Linux. There's a lot of games compatible with the Deck, but I'll have to see the performance first.

I'm sure we all should have every question answered soon.

Yep, Steam Deck for me too! And, I'll also be staying with the installed OS. I am not very tech savvy, so if I can get my games running without adding Windows, that's my preference.
