What do you think will be the last year for Madden and MLB The Show to be available for the PS4?

Do you think it will be 22? or what do you guys think?

I'd guess because of the console shortages that they do at least another year.

I think 2025 will be the first year they drop the old consoles.

if I'd been asked this question in January 2020, Show 23 would have been my guess based on the ps3 to ps4 transition. but the covids really ****** **** up, I'm revising my final answer to Show 24. no, final answer Show 25. no, Show 24. wait, real Final Answer: Show 24 or Show 25

Between covid, chip shortages, and the large PS4 install base I think we will see the Show 24 on PS4. Maybe 25, but it's too early to tell on that.

I'll tell you one thing I know from informal polls with friends, colleagues, and people I know. The day the PS4/XBOXone goes is the day every single one of them has said they stop buying consoles. A massive nail in the coffin of the traditional console industry will be when the new gen consoles become the only ones available. For the average consumer there is simply no justifiable reason to own one. There are at this point more games out there that the average person has yet to play to last them years on older consoles. And more hard core gamers (like myself) that don't want to cough up the cash because they don't see any discernible value in newer games, especially sports games, will simply find other ways to do the gaming they like and even moreso in the sports gaming world where many of us ALREADY play older titles updated and continued to do so even through the PS4 years.
Just my opinion.

Based on the ways EA and SDS handles the last generation shift, I think it's a safe bet that the PS4 will at least see one more iteration of the Show and two more iterations of Madden.

I only just started actively seeking out a next-gen console, but I'm not going crazy about it, though.

I signed up for PlayStation Direct last week, so we'll see how that turns out. And if/when GameStop starts selling Series X units on their own (not as part of a bundle), I do have some gift cards at the ready...

Probably another year or two of multi-plat releases, but they'll continue to be more and more inferior to the current gen product.

2025 at the very earliest. The casual is still having trouble getting a PS5 at MSRP.

For games that are not sports games and like just dance I think you will basically get nothing after 2023 for sports games I think like 2025 sports games always get cross gen like the longest.
