      It's not HD with a built in tuner. He afterall didn't get it. He said it tuned in for about a minute, then it kept switching off. I knew I wasn't crazy.

            Even if the TV has a built in HD tuner, you still need the special Receiver from Direct TV to view their HD stations.

              Even if the TV has a built in HD tuner, you still need the special Receiver from Direct TV to view their HD stations.

                Even if the TV has a built in HD tuner, you still need the special Receiver from Direct TV to view their HD stations.

                  not exactly, a lot of tv's that have the built in hd-tuner are directv, so you wouldn't need a special receiver to view the hd stations. you'd just have to get the card from them and choose your programming

                              There are HDTVs that have BOTH built in.. DirecTV and HD receiver. No box needed... RCA made/makes them and maybe some others.

                              WHile not an option I would choose, it is/was available.

                                There are HDTVs that have BOTH built in.. DirecTV and HD receiver. No box needed... RCA made/makes them and maybe some others.

                                WHile not an option I would choose, it is/was available.
