When I'm typing up a paper, I listen to what I normally listen, which is pretty much everything on my last.fm page.
The only exception is when I'm studying or doing math, and then I listen to nothing.

When I am doing homework, I tend to stay away from music with lyrics....
So I listen to a lot of Drum and Bass and Trance, but I also will put on bands like Explosions in the Sky and Godspeed You Black Emperor.Comment

I've got a playlist on Winamp with a lot of various rock, from Taproot, to Alter Bridge, to Chevelle, and a bunch of others. Just put it on random until i'm done.Comment

For me, it can't be anything with words in it. I like complete silence when I'm studying but if I do have music on it has to be instrumental only. It's weird though, because at work, I can't code (I'm a programmer) without listening to my mp3 player.

Thankfully my days of doing HW are behind me, but I used to listen to slow, relaxing stuff. I even DL'd one of those stupid "Sounds of Nature" things that had the sound of waterfalls and rain on stuff on it. Hey, it was certainly was peaceful and relaxing!!

Mobb Deep - Infamous and Hell on Earth instrumentals, Outkast - Atleins and Southernplayalisticmuzik, also some R & B. Basically, I listen to relaxing stuff that doesn't make me lose focus.Comment
