Re: Worst Band You've EVER Heard

Two contemporary bands immediately jump to mind:

Alexisonfire. I just don't "get" singers who only scream and growl. makes the music hard to listen to.

Black Eyed Peas. 15 years from now they will be regarded as one of the worst popular music acts to grace our culture. Their music is just AWFUL.

Don't get me wrong, I was very much a Creed fan in my day, and still enjoy them from time to time.

Tremo is widely regarded to be a very gifted guitar player, even if he has been stuck in bands widely regarded as beng total crap like Creed and Alter Bridge. Flip may not have been the greatest drummer in all the land, but he could at least get the job done and was mediocre at worst. And the two bass players Brian Marshall and Brett Hesla were at least better than other hack bass players out there, like the guy from Korn. Believe me, there has been and is much worse than Creed, bad cover band or not.
I have to disagree with you calling Alter Bridge "crap". Have you heard their debut CD "One Day Remains"? I think it's fantastic, along with a lot of people I have had listen to it. Myles Kennedy is 10x the vocalist Stapp could ever be, and you can't go wrong with Tremonti at guitar. Give it a listen if you haven't. If you have and don't like it, then I respect your opinion. However, I haven't read many poor reviews of the CD either, so I think you saying "widely regarded" as crap is off.

I'm not saying I think it's total crap -- bands widely regarded as beng total crap like Creed and Alter Bridge -- I've actually enjoyed most of the Alter Bridge work. The album isn't as strong as My Own Prison, but it is certainly better than Human Clay and on-par with Weathered. But, everyone throws the stigmatism that they are crap onboard simply because they are 3/4 of Creed. The album did get a select few good reviews here and there, but anyone I have talked about the band with have judgementally called them crap just because of who they are.

Worst band has to be any of those that dont sing, but talk in a really low pitch into the microphone, kinda grunting and yelling and making noises that are supposed to be lyrics but are not undertandable, and usually have a bunch of people moshing in a pit in front of them. I cant think of any names off the bat, but whoever they are, they are stinkers.

edit: i found a group: Killswitch. It just sounds like a bunch of angry yelling and cats being strangled.
someone listen to this and tell me this is good music

Killswitch Engage 'This Consequence' available February 21st, 2025. Check out killswitchengage.com for new tracks, videos, trailers, special offers, info, and more.

I think anyone with a bad day and a microphone can make this song.

Ahhh, I got ya now. Guess I misread thinking you said they were crap. I'll agree it's not quite as good as "My Own Prison", as that was a fantastic album. Personally I feel it is a fantastic album however, as "Open Your Eyes", "Broken Wings", and "One Day Remains" are modern classics in my mind. I do agree that people see them as crap by association, as a few of my friends who despise Creed wouldn't even give it a listen. It's too bad also, because I feel Myles is one of the best singers in the industry with an INCREDIBLE range of vocals. Oh well, their loss. Can't wait to see what their next album brings.

BTW, have you given Stapp's solo album a listen yet? I heard that it's actually better than expected, but i'm still skeptical.

I like Myles vocals, he reminds me a lot of Hugo from Tantric at times, but I still don't know if I prefer him to Scott. Overall the album is fairly decent, there's no denying that. I don't think I've listened to it enough to give it a fair shake though. I've sorta drifted away from the modern rock scene and into more of a contemporary singer-songwriter place since Creed broke up -- it wasn't their breakup that pushed me away from the heavy guitars, but timeline-wise it seems like it was around the same time.

I've had it on my computer for about a month now, but just haven't brought myself to listen to it. I think I may do so right now, actually. I've listened to "Surround Me" a couple times as it's popped up on random, and it's really not a bad track at all. Honestly, I don't expect anything short of something that would probably fit directly into the Creed catalog. Which, in my opinion, isn't that horrible of a thing. I would be more than satisfied if The Great Divide was nothing more than a fourth "Creed" album.
