When I see I Robot, Bad News Bears (2005), Ocean's 11, Mr. Deeds, Big Daddy, Varsity Blues, Mr. Deeds, Fight Club, Wayne's World, Pirates of the Caribbean, and Karate Kid on some lists I realize some of you just haven't seen very many movies.Comment

Anyway...
The cultural and social analysis/commentary of this movie is superb. You have to remember this movie was filmed in the 60s when there was a lot of tension between the "hippie" generation and the rest of the US. Jack's role as the "average Joe American" is probably my favorite role he has done.
Again, sometimes you have to look past the entertaining part of the movie to see it for what it really is. This is the difference between movies like Easy Rider and movies like Elf. Its like comparing the Da Vinci Code to Grapes of Wrath.
