Blind Faith
Okay. As I mentioned in the "I Just Picked Up..." thread, I'm looking for CDs to order with a gift certificate. I was looking for Blind Faith and seeing how I like to get the best deal I can get, I searched Sam Goody (certificate) and Amazon (just to compare). Sam Goody only has one copy, which the 6 track album featuring the "band" cover art. Amazon has three different editions, two of which are the 6 track albums (one with the band cover art and the other with the "Nude Girl with Plane" cover art). The other version is a 2CD deluxe edition which is remastered and features the Nude Girl w/ Plane cover art. Now, I like unique/classic covers (ie: Amorica) and I would like to purchase a version with the girl and plane. I'm wondering if anybody has the Deluxe Edition, and if so, is it worth the $20? I'm not sure if the other edition w/ the girl is remastered though. So, any help would be GREATLY appreciated.

Re: Blind Faith
From AMG:
This expanded edition will not change any minds; just on principle, it may even sour some open-minded listeners who have a distaste for meandering, endless jams. They may be right, since the four jams that comprise the nearly hourlong second disc just aren't that interesting, even if fleeting moments work well. The bonus tracks on the first disc are interesting (apart from the winding 15-minute "Acoustic Jam"), including two previously unreleased versions of "Sleeping in the Ground" (the one on Crossroads is missing), an electric version of "Can't Find My Way Home," and "Time Winds." The fact remains that -- even with these new tracks and the lavish presentation -- this is a muddled album, but it's still a hell of a set for the dedicated, filled with unheard music, good liners, and beautiful packaging. Those who do love the album will not be disappointed by this. -
Re: Blind Faith
Thanks for posting the review Brandon, but I actually read that before I created the thread. Meandering during a jam is totally different from one person to the next, so I'm kind of wondering if its the same meandering like the 17 minute long live take of "Spoon" by Cream, or a Jimi Hendrix-esque meandering.

Re: Blind Faith
No problem, thanks for trying though. I just want a remastered version with the "creative" album cover. I didn't think it would be that hard to find.

Re: Blind Faith
I heard Blind Faith's "Can't Find My Home" on a video of the 101st Airborne's tour of Iraq and loved it. I had never heard of them before that nor did I know that Eric Clapton was a member. I haven't heard anything else of them, but I did download that one song. Just my $.02.Back in the NCAA saddle after 17 years.Comment
