From friends, I have heard mixed reviews, some liking it some not. I thought it was rather funny, but if I were you, just don't expect it to be the funniest movie ever, and you should enjoy.

Everybody I know that saw it absolutely loved it. It is comic gold for about 3/4's of the movie.

The 4 deleted scenes are nothing special. It was interesting to see how much effort was required to film all the wedding scenes.
I thought the deleted scenes were actually pretty good. The "Did he have brass knuckles? I think he had a brick in his hand!" "no, that was just his fist" part was good. I loved the Red Balloons song though, the build up to it is hilarious(the singing part is OK, but the way they built up to it was classic). I hoped there would be more, none were as funny as the best parts of the movie, but they weren't that bad.

Comic gold?! I don't know if I would go that far... Granted it is a funny movie, and I laughed a lot, but Wilson and Vaughn have each had funnier movies. For example, Rushmore and Swingers.

There are different types of comedy, dumb comedy(Wedding Crashers, Happy Gilmore, Dodgeball, Airplane, ect) and 'smart' comedy(anything by Wes Anderson). Is this a Rushmore or Royal Tenenbaums quality movie? No, of course not, but for a dumb comedy, it is pretty freakin' funny.

It gets laughs at a blistering pace throughout the first 3/4's of the movie. If you don't find an old lady cursing and calling FDR's wife a "rug eater" of course this movie isn't going to be that funny to you. But for what kind of comedy it is, it is pretty darn good. IMO better than the recent movies like it: Dodgeball, Anchorman and 40 Year Old Vigin(all very good though).

quite possibly the most over-rated movie ever. I just didn't laugh as much as I was told I would.

I agreed that it was funny, but when I hear people saying its Wilson's/Vaughn's best work, and how funny they are in it, I just shrug...ya know what I mean?

I hear you, definitely understand where you're coming from on that one. The unfortunate thing is that most people have only seen Vaughn and Wilson is "dumb" comedys like this one, so that is all they have to compare it to.

100% agree. But they are very good at this specific sub-genre (dumb comedy).

It wasn't that the latter half of the movie lost it's funny, it just seems like they got to a point where they realized "holy crap, we've gotta wrap this thing up" and sped through it. The saving grace was totally the Ferrell cameo though, it not only made the last half of the movie, it made the movie itself. Definitely my favorite movie of last year, Potter not withstanding.

My favorite comedy of 2005 easily. I laughed very hard in the theater, almost in tears.

I did enjoy Ferrell's role(one second viewing), but it was the only funny part after they left the house.
