Re: External harddrives
I had an old seperate HD that didn't fit into my new computer, so I bought an external hard drive enclosure kit. I'm not sure if that's what you're trying to do, but it's something I'd look into."You make your name in the regular season, and your fame in the postseason." - Clyde Frazier

Re: External harddrives
I have an external 250 GB Western Digital drive. It's great for backing up your files, as well as just having a good portable drive. I have had it for about 6 months or so now and have never had any issues with it. I think it was about $.75 cents a gig back when I got it. Now, you can find one for maybe $160 or so for the same size.
They also have ones that have built on 8-in-1 memory card readers and things like that for a media center. There's a bunch of different ones and sizes. Ranging from 2GB to 500 GB. So, it just depends on what you need.
Hope that helps. Good luck.Comment

I really don't know much about external HDs. But I may want to get one...
So does this act like your regular hard drive? You can put program files into it?Comment

Re: External harddrives
It works exactly like a regular hard drive. I personally have 3 Seagate 300GB externals and 1 Maxtor 80GB external...all are very reliable. I prefer the Seagate's because they sleep when not in use for a while (saves power) and it has a power button (a lot of externals don't have power buttons).
The Seagate's I use are on sale until tomorrow at Best Buy for $149 (after rebates) which is a very good deal: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage....=1122654273195Comment

Re: External harddrives
Update:
I just picked up the seagate 100GB external harddrive from compusa for $100. Seems like a great investment, i was able to free up tons of space on my orginal harddrive and it is really user friendly. The external hardrive took about 3 minutes to set up and now im just transferring over my "files" to it.
Works great, two thumbs up, thanks for the help.
Now any recommendations for a good flat screen computer monitor???Comment
