More Horror Remakes: The Hills Have Eyes, When A Stranger Calls

Well...I just checked out the trailers for the remakes of "The Hills Have Eyes" and "When A Stranger Calls".

Both of the originals are classic horror/thriller types. We've already seen The Fog, Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Amityville Horror, etc.

I GUARANTEE a remake of "Carrie" or "Christine" is right around the corner.

Anyone see the trailer for these two flicks? Thoughts? I think The Hills has potential...but When a Stranger Calls loses something....the major factor in that movie being so great was the "shock" of what happens at the end...which most people know by now.

Regardless...I'd rather see these types of flicks than the glorified "snuff" films like Wolf Creek, Hostel, and the Devil's Rejects.

The remake of Texas Chainsaw scared the living hell outta me.

I've never seen either of these, so the Stranger's ending would still have shock value to me.

Carrie has been remade, came out about 2 years ago. Christine was awful, a remake can only help that movie.

        BLASHPEMY!! Christine is a classic.

As for Carrie..I'm talking about a major motion picture..not straight to video or the "Sci Fi Original Movie" of the week.

Classic Schmassic. If the movie scares me more, it's better in my book.

By the way... was Carrie considered a horror movie?

Blech! John Carpenter's worst movie IMO.

What do you mean? The King of Horror wrote Carrie after-all.

I mean that it wasn't really a scary movie.

Well, I suppose you're right about that one.

But, what I mean by it is that its intensive purpose was not to freak out the audience. At least... that was the message that I got from it.

The Hills Have Eyes, that was a freaky movie. Remakes seem to be the thing now, so many of them recently.
How I wish, how I wish you were here. We're just two lost souls swimming in a fish bowl year after year. Running over the same old ground. What have we found? The same old fears. Wish you were here.
