unless they plan on keeping the uhaul trailer, they do track those.

"Engelhardt said he filed a complaint with Florida authorities and will not order merchandise from sellers on eBay until better security mechanisms to protect against fraud are in place. He said he had suggested PayPal to Mardonov, but the seller had "lots of reasons not to do this," saying that he been shorted by the online middleman in the past."

Paypal's the worst.. they take your money out, freeze, do whatever the hell they want, with your money. there are way too many loopholes.

stick with true to life merchants like bestbuy.com/

they could have hijacked someone else's account that had positive feedback and changed the id. you see that a lot on ebay.

I always use Paypal, easily the safest, and when the first words are No Paypal in big letters you should click back as quick as possible

"During the afternoon of Dec.17, several hours before victims began contacting the sheriff's office about their losses, neighbors report that they saw a U-Haul-type trailer attached to the couple's 2001 Mercedes sedan in the apartment parking lot," Spell said.

Investigators have contacted the couple's employer and confirmed reports that Mardonov called his workplace and said he was out of the country and needed time off for personal reasons. Initial reports from Immigration and Customs Enforcement indicate that Mardonov and Khakimova did not leave the U.S. on a commercial airline. Authorities say they believe the couple may still be in the country.

A message on Mardonov's cell phone indicates that his voice mailbox is full.

A nationwide alert is in effect for law enforcement agencies, and photographs, physical descriptions and vehicle information have been distributed throughout the U.S.

Nice find BG. I have seen stuff like this on ebay, but these people were excessive on the theft here. It looks like the police will catch them. I bet that ebay tightens up after this.

I know you probably meant Ebay, but the only time I buy something high-priced online is from the manufacturer (like Apple for an iPod, etc).

I've actually never used Ebay, but my dad uses it all the time.

Or he did it to get people's trust.

some buyers are crazy. negative feedback within 12 days...

atleast wait 21 days.. even if they dont respond, its no excuse.. its bad business but negative feedback is the ultimate low
21 days...are you kidding? 7 days MAX. Most buyers require payment within 24 hours and most ship the item out in another 24 hours...so 7 days is very linent.

per ebay rules, they have something like 7 days to ship it out. if its a book, media mail can take upwards of 3 weeks. international orders can take a month. communication is the ultimate key though, and they lacked that. so in this case, i guess i was wrong. its just that ive had zero communication with sellers before and days later it comes, with the propoer post date. sometimes there are mixups, so i always choose to wait it out rather than jump the gun and go for feedback right away. like lets say a refund was offered.. you COULD get the feedback mutially "erased" however
