"Cranium" is a great game in a group. It's a crapload of fun.

played that the other night... found out that i am totally filled with useless knowledge, & that my brother can't read.. (drawing a Hawaiian skirt when the answer was SHIRT)...

The favorite game for my wife and I when we have people over is "Settlers of Catan". You set that baby up on a large scale (4-6 players) and it's very competetive. It's easy to learn, and has the perfect balance of luck and skill/strategy. Anyone who hasn't tried the game should. We also have the expansion packs which add a whole other dimension to the game.

We also play "Risk", which fun when you have multiple people. Once you pare the board down to about three sides (so make sure you have another game for the losers to play), anything can happen. The better war game is "Axis and Allies", but we've only played that game one on one, since it takes a long time to set up and there the rules are very complex.

I got it but its pretty far out there. They ask questions like "Who won the Olympic Gold Medal in Womens freestyle figure skating in the 92 Olympics".

my brain is wired for Trivial Pursuit, and I'm a sports fan in general, not just the major ones, so I know that random crap. Nowhere near as good as the Schwab, but not half bad

oh, Cranium, 90's Trivial Pursuit, Catch Phrase, Taboo, Scattergories, Scene It are all fun (i had a friend a year or so ago who owned tons of games and would have a game night once in a while, she was totally into it)

Has anyone tried the new pop culture or 90's version or whatever of Trivial Pursuit? I was thinking about getting it but I heard it was pretty damn bad.

We've got the 90s version, and it's pretty fun. We've only played it a couple times with some friends and had a good time. If you were a teen during the decade, I would definitely recommend it.

We played Loaded Questions for the first time the other night, that was a lot of fun.

Not really, I know there is a group of ppl who are good at those little trivial details but I could'nt even come close to answering 99% of the questions those games have. When we bought it we were thinking somewhere in the range of "which pop group won the Grammy for best group in 94" or something of that nature. That question about the figure skater was memorable because it was at that point when we gave the game up.

BTW, I made up the "freestyle" part. The question was real but I could'nt remember the actual name of the event.

I was actually thinking about making daily threads using those Trivial Pursuit questions but google would ruin it.
