Sorry, Mr. Free Thinker, but you're example of a fact is nothing more than an opinion. Go to a Rangers-Islanders game at MSG, a Packers-Bears game at Lambeau or a Yankees-Red Sox game anywhere, and you'll find just as much atmosphere as any college game.

This is a fact: Michigan Stadium holds more people than Lambeau Field. This is an opinion: Michigan Stadium has more atmosphere than Lambeau Field.

Seating capacity is a quantifiable statistic. Atmosphere is not, so it's subjective.

    Take care,

Good call. I seemed to stand corrected here. This is (more or less) what I meant. You have a 100,000 seat stadium? It's going to fill up for a college game... not for a pro game.

The majority of people (rich alumni graduates) are unappreciative of professional sports over college sports, now that's my opinion.

Umm... one thing that sort of makes me feel this overratedness is, say, on a Friday night when I want to see highlights to something professional on Sportscenter, but I miss it because I'm out watching Hostel, I want to wake up the next morning to see them. What do I get instead? College Gameday on ESPN, ESPN 2, and FSN Bay Area. I can't watch my Sportscenter because I'm watching an hour long pregame to a college sport?

Lets compare Soccer to a very similar sport, Hockey

both sports involve putting an object past a goalie into a net.

In each sport, each goal is very important because they are few and far between.

But, wait, Hockey has checking and fights so hockey is cooler than soccer.

But if Hockey got cacelled last year than that means...........

All other sports > Hockey > Getting kicked in the balls not very hard > soccer

I've played soccer my entire life, including at the D1 and semi-pro levels. I now coach high school and club. Having said that, I will tell you right now, soccer is not the most exciting sport of the last 100 years. Don't get me wrong, I love the sport (obviously), but unless you really know the game, it just looks like a bunch of people kicking a ball around.

My absolute favorite sport is football, specifically NFL, followed by some summer time baseball. To each his own I guess, but I'm not too sure about these results...
