Bender is one of my fave animated characters of all time. I really hope this happens as I still watch the repeats on Teletoon here in Canada.

I agree, it was'nt meant to be joke funny but moreso the characters who created the laughs. Bender was my guy as well and right up there with Stewie IMO.

I hope the show does come back, I really liked it. Plus all of the space and scientific refrences.

I was thinking the same thing. Not only do I really enjoy Futurama (I watch it on Adult Swim just about every night), I think Family Guy is just as good as ever.

Great point about the laughs. It didn't fish for laughs as much as Family Guy does, the laughs are more frequent and enjoyable the more you watch the show and get the characters(similar to American Dad in that way).

I can understand people not liking it, I hated it during it's first run, I tried to like it, but just couldn't get into it ever. But I started watching them on AS and for some reason it just clicked with me more the second time around.

Futurama builds their characters and IMO makes you care about them. That's the main difference that it has with FG where it's just "Here's this situation; here's a lot of funny things, like poop, fart, vomit, references".

IMO, that's why Futurama is more enjoyable to me. There seems to be a larger story than 30 minutes every week.

futurama is the most intelligent of the current animated sitcoms. It puts you in a world, so far into the future, but you realize the peoples lifes are still pretty much the same as they are today. It was brilliantly done, with fry and bender becoming almost instant animated classics. The metaphores in the show were top notch, and had such great cameos. If they bring it back, i will be jumping for joy, as i can imagine nothing better than simpsons, futurama, family guy and american dad all on the same night.

Exactly. Futurama isn't just another dumb animated show, it actually has intelligence and like other people said, once you get to know the chracters more things get funnier. You also have to a lot about the stuff that they reference to, which is why I like listening to the commentaries on the dvd's.

with groening half-assing his way through the simpsons now, futurama should be excellent

                        Re: Futurama Coming Back?

I didn't know Groening even did any work with the Simpsons anymore. That show just isn't any good.

Futurama has a lot of depth and is just an immensely enjoyable program. When it was on Fox I never gave it much of a chance (and neither did Fox), and its first season wasn't as strong as the following ones. When it came to Adult Swim is when I got into it. I got into the habit of watching it on a nightly basis (college life will do that to you) and it has grown on me to the point that I think, at the end of the day, I prefer it over Family Guy. Fry, Bender, Zoidberg, and Prof. Farnsworth have a lot more laughs in them and it would be a shame to see the show remain canceled.
