Are some of you really so paranoid that you actually think something this stupid would actually become widespread and, I find this to be the funniest part, mandatory?

I and many others are concerned about this kind of technology. It can have horrible results, and who knows what could really happen if we were all forced to be chipped. There are many speculations on what kind of life it would be. One result could be close to an Orwellian society based off his novel, 1984. I BEG YOU to NOT ignore these kinds of speculations. You can think for yourself and hold whatever views you want, but please don't ignore. You never know what can happen.
I was reading about this in national geographic and it talked about how one could find out about the opposite sex, like what their interests are, etc, all for dating purposes. Although some may find that "easier," I personally think that's foolish and way to manipulate people (into other agendas) into wanting such devices.Last edited by bball_1523; 01-09-2006, 07:36 PM.Comment

Just answer me this... How many times have we seen outlandish "signs of the future" like this that have never come to anything? This is just something else that will be completely forgotten about in two weeks.
Well, actually for it to be forgotten people would actually have to be aware of it, which isn't the case here, it's nothing more than a minor footnote.
Anyone who has a serious fear of this becoming some major threat to their livelihood or personal security is, in fact, quite paranoid.Comment

I see nothing wrong with having a choice. If people want a chip inside of them let them have it.
Heck in the future I'm not even sure if we will still have keys.Comment

One man's paranoia is anothers heightened sense of awareness. I put forth to you that it is more likely than not that this type of technology will most certainly be used for nefarious ends. Introduce it as convenient and benign, once people readily accept it, boom! total control. It boggles my mind that human beings would readily accept an invasion of their bodies by corporate and or governmental entities in the name of convenience. The question is convenient for who and for what purpose.Comment

Originally posted by AlliballI'm with you man. Personally, I would much rather see flying cars before I see chips implanted under my skin. They've been talking about flying cars since I was a kid, but where are the flying cars? Flying cars is where it's really at.
As for the chips in the skin, dont be suprised if this is one day mandatory. It defitnitly has more benefits than negatives. It could drop the crime rate as well as offer more convienent services as was already noted.http://neverfollow.biz (Independent Music Group)Comment
