    The Shield: Season Five

    Starts tomorrow night on FX.

I'm pretty pumped. I just got done watching the season 4 dvd's. I've never seen an episode on TV. But this season I will.

Greatest show on tv, not counting HBO shows?

Wow, totally forgot. The Shield this week, and then a few days later 24.

24 is the best show on TV, but The Shield might be #2. Maybe Nip/Tuck.

        Re: The Shield: Season Five

This is going to be my first season watching the episodes on TV as they go. I've been watching the replays they have on weeknights and the mini-marathons they have on weekends and this show has been nothing short of very entertaining.

Yeah I've been hooked on The Shield since Season 2. I watched Season 1 on DVD but I still think 2 is the best (for those who watched it, it's the one with that Mexican druglord, Armadillo). I also liked that Vic was a bad guy. I think this past season was the worst (still good, but not Shield standards) because too much time was devoted to the white/blonde haired lady (forgot her name) and not enough time towards the Strike Team. I'm excited though, but I will admit that I'm looking more forward to 24 on Sunday. Halfway through Season 4 (2nd time). 24 is one of the few shows where you can go back and watch again.

YESSS. my shield OS buddies. I love this show. one of my top 5. I cant stand CSI or law and order SUV, but this is some good stuff.

Does CSI and L&O have contiuniation of their main plot like the shield?

btw, i saw like 3 minutes of 24 the other day and the acting seemed just real bad.. the main character was trying to sniper these two guys from a hillside and this lady on the other line of his ear piece was just annoying as hell.. i could maybe get past that if its a cool show. whats 24 about?

Looking forward to tonight's opener. Too bad they lost Glenn Close.

Nah, Sopranos is still the best.

The original L&O has lasted so long being a good show because it doesn't have a continuation of a plot. If it focused on the individuals and not the crimes, then their would be more opportunity for bad melodrama. SVU and all the other L&Os have bad melodrama because the criminals are always having sex with their children and/or mothers, double-crossing each other, and then saying, "You Bitch!"

24 is just about Jack Bauer being put in impossible situations. He's always getting the squeeze from the US gov't who he works for and terrorists trying to blow the US up. Basically, he shoots a lot of people, a lot of people try to kill him and his family, the gov't doesn't fully trust him, and his life sucks. It's entertaining, but you have to watch a full season from the start to know what's going on. Unlike L&O, all episodes of a season are directly connected.

The Shield is better than all of them though.

Walk into the light. The Sopranos hasn't been good for the last two seasons. The Shield has been top notch for 4 years in a row.

Forest Whitaker is great. "Want some gum?" "It's a fresh pack of Juicy Fruit."
