I saw an interview with the guy on CNN. What a brilliant idea. Some folks are real creative when it comes to these things.

the guy has connections. you cant just have a press conference where thousands of potential business think, "oh wow, let me invest 25,000 thousand". its definetly an unattainble feat for the average person.. i dont see the big deal. go to that site.. you'll get frustrated after 20 seconds. it's just a mess.

he was almost guranteed to succeed in whatever he did. he had the friends willing to spend a thousand bucks, people in the know about getting it to the press. it's a great idea, but whatever he mightve thought of, im sure wouldve had great success. he had a great foundation, that the media is forgetting to talk about

lol man.. im just saying he has the resources going for him. that article didnt mention that he had friends help "invest" a few thousand so he could get a press conference. he was definetly thinking out of the box, kudos for that, but its like having a uncle whos works with an admission office at a college and your bragging about getting into the school. It's a nice accomplishment, but its definetly aided. It loses its realworld luster, that appeal for the masses, that the media likes to project

That site is a big mess.

The ebay auction for the last 1000 pixels went for 38 grand

ever heard of investors?? if you have a good idea you better go out and find investors and thats what the kid did. most business start out with someone investing money into their project, so i'm not sure where you are going with your point

I don't get it, who's going to go to a webpage that is just full of ads?

my point is there has to be more to it than we all think. the sites a mess, yet it has all these investors. the media has been on this story as if this was some celebrity wedding. It's just not your typical college kid or story, like the media is portraying. I'm not jealous of the kid and his ideas, just your typical media.

I don't get what appealed to the advertisers. You can barely see any of the ads.

If I went any bigger, it would not have properly fit with my equipment, so I had to optimize. I'm okay with it, but I also know what I'm missing with those five inches. :)

Celebrity weddings should never get any type of publicity.

Exactly, there is something more to this story that they're not telling us.
