Re: Any Emery fans?
Dood, when I heard "AR YOU LISTENING!!!!!" live, it was their last song of the night, and me and the entire place flipped beyond description. They ahve a way of making every topic they sing about so poetic and rock with it. Listening to Freddie Mercury and Playing With Fire are maybe the best two off the newer CD, but I originaly purcahsed it because of Studying Politics.Comment

Four month old top!
Ok, I was listening to their cover of "All I Want" that is on the Punk Goes 90's compilation just now. And they did a nice job of staying true to the Toad roots, but at the same time giving the song their own little twist. Overall, I liked what I heard. So, I hoped over to AMG and gave their newest CD a quick preview, and liked what I heard there as well. Downloading it right now to see what I think overall, but it's going kinda slow and in line behind a few others that I've got coming in, so it's likely gonna be a while until I get to actually listen to it.
In the meantime, how about one of you enlighten me about the band.Comment

Re: Any Emery fans?
BGarret, I actually just saw them again recently and they were phenomenal again. The first CD may be better than their second but both are great. What you won't get from d/l'ing their second one is how everyone song transistions into the next on the CD, its awesome.
But as far as the band goes, they down-to-earth in their lyrics and attitudes and they have some pretty positive messages in some songs.
"Walls" is my favorite all-time song, and "Studying Politics" is their best non-screaming song IMO. You'll like it all, just give them a try. If you wanna hit me up at Illchill1234 on AIM i'll send you the CDs in files.Comment

Re: Any Emery fans?
Emery is a melodic Christian post-hardcore band from Seattle, Washington. They were formed early on in South Carolina but moved to the West Coast in search of a better musical environment. The band are currently signed to Tooth & Nail Records. They have performed at the Cornerstone Festival in Bushnell, Illinois, and they have perfomed on the Warped Tour lineup. They were also featured at Spirit West Coast's "Rock the Park" festival in Chino, California

That show was INCREDIBLE man. I got in here in Boston. Did the Fold, Classic Crime, and Jonezetta play? I thought the Fold blew, but Jonezetta and The Classic Crime were great. Anberlin rocked and Emery just was amazing.Comment

I've seen these guys three times already, and they put on one of the best lives shows I've seen. So energetic.
Check out the videos I've gotten live this year...
