3D Graphics Card
I'm looking around for a new graphics card for my computer. I'm trying to avoid ATI graphics cards, as I've been having problems with my current ATI card causing random crashes. I really don't wanna spend more than $250, but I want something on par with or better than what I currently have, an ATI Radeon X300. Any suggestions?Tags: None -
Re: 3D Graphics Card
Is it PCI-e or AGP?
IF PCI-e, you should be able to find some 6800GT's for about 250 give or take 20 bucks each way. Or the X850XT would be good as well.
If AGP, the GeForce GS6800 256mb might be your best bet.
Either one would obliterate an X300 even at half speedLast edited by KENYON06; 01-16-2006, 08:46 AM. -

Re: 3D Graphics Card
Where you right click the desktop and go Properties - Settings - Advanced - then click on your cards options. I haven't got my ATI card in right now (upgraded to a 6600GT recently) but the option should be in there to disable Smartgart.
I know for sure there were many others saying turning it off stops the crashing, so it's worth a try.Comment
