i tell you what, this is gonna be a great night of tv. i'm gonna set the dvr to record this while i watch 24 and then watching this afterwards. for a free show, we're getting a pretty good lineup. most of the fights appear very competitive on paper. i'm eager to see my boy melvin fight again.

Did you hear about the "BIG ANNOUNCEMENT"? UFC has a Big Announcement thats going to happen on this show tonight.

yeah man i'm pumped to hear what it is. at first i thought it might be bringing in the lightweight division, but that's not something that will "change ufc forever" as they put it. we should know shortly.

I thought it starts at 10PM PST? But if that's the west coast side only don't break the news until later if you can help it.

Alright it's finally on here.

So was the big announcement at the start of the show? If it was then it was that Ortiz and Shamrock are both going to be the coaches on the new season? All there new shows on Spike?

Matt Hughes is fighting Royce Gracie in May. That was the announcement.

Gracie and Hughes will be a interesting fight. Hughes is in his prime......Gracies prime has passed him. The fighters in MMA are much better now than when Gracie was fighting. Don't get me wrong, Gracie is a legend and one of the best and I hope he beats Hughes.

I think this fight will go down like Shamrock and Franklin fight went down. Like Bonner said last night he wants to step in a ring with a Legend win or lose. I like that's why Hughes is doing this fight.

Hughes is one of the best fighters in the UFC and Gracie hasn't fought in so long.

he fought on 12/31/2005 in K1. been fighting once per year for the last 3 years. one of those he submitted a 484 pound guy.
