I agree 100%. I even mentioned above that Avant is just IE with a different interface.

I'm not sure the motivation behind this website, but I'm not sure I care enough to figure it out either!

Same here. I came into work at 7:50 today. I've had Firefox open ever since then.

Right now I have 4 tabs open and FF is taking up 80kb of memory. I only use these extensions as well: Adblock Plus, Adblock updater, ForecastFox, Bugmenot and Tabbed Browsing Extensions. No reason for it to already take up 80kb of memory.

I was doing some casual browsing yesterday and FF got over 100k. Yikes!

It looks like pages with large image files just chew up memory and never release it. Or there's a memory leak as you mentioned above.

I only noticed it because FF seemed to slowdown near the end of the work day (I have it open all day). Closing the browser and re-opening releases all the memory so that's what I do now when it slows down. Hopefully they fix this, but from what I understand, it's been like this for a while.

Funny...I finally figured out to do that like a few weeks ago and it works like a charm.

Yeah firefox uses more memory than before unfortunately, I have gotten well over 150k I'm sure. (i've had 10+ tabs open at once before...but very rarely) But I have 512 MB memory so it's not a problem luckily.
