Oh yea, there is a 3 on 3 basketball game like the baseball game I desribed in the works in Japan. If I can find any info, I'll let you guys know. I've searched for this game in the past but came up empty.

Yeah... imagine the possibilities. You and four of your friends playing in leagues and tournaments, running plays, playing help defense, etc. You could essentially do this in football too, where each person controls a QB, RB, WR, WR/TE and WR/TE/FB and on defense controls whoever they want. Hell, in every sports game you could do this. If done right, it would be revolutionary and tons of fun.

The problem is that it's hard enough finishing a league when ONE player controls a team. Five players to a team? Forget it, you'll be lucky to get one game in.

Online is what it is. It's only as good as the other players. For sports gaming it can be great but usually isn't.

For war gaming you have to be in a clan to get the most out of it.

Ah ha, I finnally found it. Its called Freestyle Basketball and its currently in its beta stages and if you can translate Korean language, you can DL the beta and try it out. I may give it a twirl. Its not what you expect but I found a screenie.

Yeah, that's a major problem, getting everyone to play at once and not dropping/lagging. You'd have to be pretty organized to get through leagues and games and whatnot.

That sums it up perfectly.

As far as games like Battlefield are concerned, finding a good server that has an administrator = good times without being in a clan.

I do find racing games online (PGR2/3, Forza, Midnight Club, Burnout etc.) to be quite fun without people cheesing or dropping. As a matter of fact some of the best times I've had on Xbox Live were racing games.

I still play a lot of Euchre online but there are people who even cheat at that (partners on the phone with each other). You do have to have the right cards to win but its still an adavntage.

As long a there are online games where players have any sort of anonymity there will always be cheating.

I'm still waiting for 5 on 5 basketball where each person controls a player and an online GTA-type game. That would be fresh.

If you're a Hockey fan, then pick up NHL Rivals 2004. I've played this game where we've had 5 on 5 matches with each person playing all of the positions. Its really a blast but it requires discipline to stay locked on to your responsibility just like in an actual Hockey game. This is the only game where I've seen up to 10 xboxs playing at the same time.

While I am very excited about the potential of online gaming... esp that game where you are gangs of cops and bad guys... nothing will be better to me than sitting down and playing 2 player dynasty in NCAA football. My housemate and I made it through 5 seasons competiting for recruits and slugging it out on the gridiron.... it was a blast the entire time.
