Free AntiVirus Software Recommendations?

After just getting my computer's Hard Drive re-formatted, I don't have any anivirus software. Can anyone help me by giving me some info on good, free antivirus software?

AVG only lasts for 30 days....so its Free w/limitations.

AVG has a completely free edition that is a watered-down version of the home version.

Yes, but it still provides the same protection as the business edition.

I've had AVG (www.grisoft.com) for 4 years now. I love it!

Another vote for AVG, there is a free version that is very good. Keep in mind you will have to register your product online if not it will not work after 60 days. Low resources auto updates very solid product.

Another free AV product which is very good as well is a "Avast" http://www.avast.com , it requires a little more system resources but also does a very good job and performs auto updates as well.
