    Laptop Bag Suggestions

I've always had a traditional laptop bag that just goes over one shoulder. I of course try to cram too much in it when traveling and it weighs a ton. I'd like to get one of the backpack style bags. I've checked out the Swiss Army bags and a few others but am not sure if I'm missing any I should check out. Any suggestions? I'm not too picky about anything...only thing I would like is if it would fit underneath airplane seats as I travel somewhat often and my current bag fits.

If it matters I have a 15" laptop now but am planning on getting a new one that's 14".

I got one in Office Depot a few years ago, it was a regular backpack, but it had a padded place to put it in. Can't remember the brand though.

      Re: Laptop Bag Suggestions

I never liked full "laptop bags" because they either looked: A) intrinsically and hopelessly nerdy(have you ever seen anything made by Taragus...geez) or B) the laptop encasement is integrated into the bag itself, sort of "locking you in" to that particular bag, so if you wanted to change bags, you had to buy a whole new one.

For that reason, I prefer laptop sleeves, like the "Boot" (http://www.spireusa.com/products/BT5.html) or the "Brain Cell" (http://www.tombihn.com/page/001/PROD/300/TB0300) which can just fit into any bag/briefcase and still be protected. If you still want a full-on solution, I would recommend 3 brands that come highly recommended:

      Spire USA:

      Tom Bihn:
Since 1972, TOM BIHN has been designing and manufacturing premium, durable bags and accessories. Specializing in high-quality backpacks, travel bags, crossbody bags, tote bags, organizers, and other travel accessories, we combine artisan craftsmanship, innovative design, and the most durable materials.

      Brenthaven:

Good luck! I have never seen any case in a store worth a damn...all the best stuff is online.
I drive a 2005 Toyota Prius Gas/Electric Hybrid. My last tank was 53.6 miles/gallon. Gas prices fear me!

Oversimplification is the escape of men who want to avoid the duty demanded by true understanding.
