As for TAEASGJ, I think I've posted in here how I felt about it, but I figure I should post in my rant about the Beaver Boys thread:
I was thinking more about this over my lunch break. (and yes, I understand I'm a giant nerd, and thought about this while I was eating, instead of boning some hot chick or something else that's incredibly manly)
I can see why people don't like TaE. It puts the audience (and a lot of characters) in incredibly awkward situations. I mean, just go watch Tom Goes to the Mayor. Every week, the Mayor fed Tom to the wolves... and I think that's why I stopped watching. Every week, Tom brought an idea to the Mayor, and got his idea warped into this frankenstein that had no other choice but to fall on everyone and crush them.
Tim and Eric keeps it fresh, but keeps the awkward. Often, they keep jokes going past the "funny zone", into the "awkward zone". But generally, for me, at least, they keep it going into the "hilarious awkward zone". But that's one of the key themes about TaE, and a lot of people don't like that. I was on the [as] boards when TGTTM came out, and I kind of liked it but it grew stale, and people were furiously against it. When TaEASGJ came out, I really liked it, and the same people on [as] got even more furious.
Summary: Tim and Eric's comedy is polarizing, and not for everyone.
That being said... "It's a free house I'll pee my pants. Jim, come get your damn land!"

Definitely, the first couple of episodes have been on point. I like 21 as well but I really miss 24. I wonder when and how they'll bring him back.

I agree with the last couple posts. This season of Venture Brothers has been great. I don't see how they could bring 24 back though aside from 21 talking to his ghost since he was blown up. I just wonder if 21 will ever figure out who detonated the bomb in H.E.L.P.E.R. though I bet it was the Moppetts. IRT 24: They could bring him back the same way they bring Hank and Dean back. I thought they were going to do that last year, I forgot what happened to cause that not to happen. Besides, the show is an archetype of standard comic book fare, and in comic books there's always a way to bring someone back from the dead.
As for Dean, I know he's a wuss, but that shouldn't be something that would stop him. The Monarch was a wuss, and so was 21. Besides, there are a lot of things that could point to Dean going the villain route (about to go full nerd here).
He is by blood descent, rightful Sovereign of the Guild of Calamitous Intent. In the episode where Hitler's soul was trapped in the body of a dog, Dean was the only person dog-Hitler would let handle him. When Dr. Venture was mentoring Dean on becoming a super scientist, he had him listening to some progressive rock. Dean got really into it but he went to far in some regard and Venture said that if he wasn't careful he'd turn out to be an evil scientist.
Finally, there's the girl he has a crush on, Triana, who "broke up" with Dean to go live with her mother and learn to become a sorceress. Of course, a socerress could be good or evil but the entity that encouraged her to do this is an Archetype of Satan, lives in a sister realm of Hell and his her father's Master. Also, her friend who went on a double date with her and the Venture Brothers has aspirations to be a villainess. I wouldn't be surprised to see something happen with Triana (combined with other factors of course) that finally pushes him over the edge.
Don't forget the episode where Dr. Killinger told Rusty that his destiny was to become a villain. Maybe he was just off a generation.
Hank is rebellious, but idolizes Batman and Brock. Rusty told him that he (Hank) is more like his father than Dean is, plus if he ever decided to go as a good guy, he'd already have his Sampson (Brock's bastard son).
Of course it's probably all wrong but I like the thought.PS: You guys are great.

Wow! I totally did not see that coming in tonights episode of the Venture Brothers. The closing also leaves some questions and perhaps suggests some aspect of the multiverse theory (an infinete number of possible alternate universes).
