I notice iPod doesn't currently support FLAC, so what's my best option for good audio quality? Should I download the files I want in MP3, or can I download the FLAC versions and convert them to another iPod-supported format without losing audio quality?

iPod question - FLAC files?
I have a 60 GB iPod video and I'm using the Apple Lossless Encoding method to import songs onto the iPod from CDs. However, I want to download some shows off the 'net and the best option for audio quality appears to be FLAC (Free Lossless Audio Codec).
I notice iPod doesn't currently support FLAC, so what's my best option for good audio quality? Should I download the files I want in MP3, or can I download the FLAC versions and convert them to another iPod-supported format without losing audio quality?Helen: Everyone's special, Dash.

Cool, I shall do this. Thanks for the simple explanation.Originally posted by BGarrett7Download the FLAC files, get FLAC Frontend to convert them to WAV, load them into iTunes, and then convert them to Apple Lossless.
