    Vacation estimation

OK im going to Florida with my girlfriend may20th-26th. Anyway the plane tickets are booked, the hotel is booked. both are paid for. Now im trying to figure out how much it would cost for everything to do down there.

Ive never been on a vacation without the family so im not used to the costs and prices of some of these things.

    Im planning on going to

    Universal,Epcot and maybe mgm (doubtful).
Also planning on going to 1 waterpark.
im sure we'll do all that in the first 4 days (1 day universal, 1 day epcot, 1 day waterpark, then we'll find 1 or 2 more attractions to do in the other 2-3 days. (probably not going to mgm because last time I went it was kind of dull because I had been to universal the day before, which i loved)
plus factoring in food, taxi ride from airport to hotel, plus any other amenidies

how much should I plan on saving and bringing? just to be safe.

I'd say you'd be slummin' it with $1000. I'd say at least $1500.

      Two observations:

      1. Isn't this the girl with whom you were having problems, as noted in the thread that was locked here a couple of weeks ago? Now you're lovey-dovey again?

      2. Didn't you say you were going to move in with this girl to save money, and now you're dropping two large on a vacation?

I'd scratch my head, but I don't want to lose any more hair than I already have.

Back to the topic at hand.

      Take care,

seriously, the disney ones can be expensive, as well as the other places. Orlando isn't a cheap vacation, it all adds up, no joke.

Since we're on this topic (and I hope I'm not hijacking here), my wife and I are going on a 7 day cruise to Mexico in March. The cruise and excursions are already paid for. Anyone been on this cruise, and if so, anybody have any ideas about how much money we should bring?

I'm going on a cruise in April, we don't drink, we're taking $500 for the casino, and souvenirs and excursions. Should be plenty since one of the excursions we're looking at is $35 a person and takes 5 hours.

First Universal is 2 parks, but you can only get in one, unless you buy a 2 park ticket. 2 Park tickets are around $90, that may be the 2 day price also, but check their website.

Call the hotel and see if they have a shuttle from the airport, a lot will. If you are close to the parks, you should be able to get a ride with the hotel shuttle or there will be a bus to take you there.

Universal has some food deal that is like $20, but then you get to eat the whole day. Can't remember what they called it as the last time I was there it was Horror Nights, so it wasn't offered then.

Epcot has some nice places to eat, but it will cost you and you need to find the place and make a reservation as soon as possible for that night.

We're doing one kayaking/snorkling excursion for about $69 and a dune buggy excursion for about the same. I can't remember, but I know my wife already booked them. We dont drink either and rarely gamble, so most of our money will go toward souvenirs. We already have $100 in credit on the ship because we booked so early.

That should buy you around 7 drinks.

LOL. Good thing we don't drink. What I can't believe is that soft drinks aren't free. You can have all the juice you want, but you have to pay for soft drinks. When you go to a restaurant, juice is usually expensive. I think the syrup to make a typical soft drink is only like 10 cents. That doesn't make any sense. Oh well, I drink mostly water anyway.

Cruises mostly get you on drinks.

I would suggest you stay away from the Casino on a cruise ship. They are not held to the same standards as US Gaming facilities and are pretty weak. The last one I was on didn't have Blackjack, they played "Face Up 21" which was pathetic.
