IPOD USB 2.0 vs. IPOD Firewire
I used to have a 3G IPOD with a Firewire hookup back in the fall until I sold it. Then today I went and bought a 5G Video Ipod which is USB 2.0. The transfer from PC to IPOD is not so bad.Tags: None -
Re: IPOD USB 2.0 vs. IPOD Firewire
I have a 3G 40GB iPod, still going strong after 2 1/3 years, no battery or other issues whatsoever. I would love to upgrade, but my primary computer, an 867Mhz 12in Powerbook, does not have USB 2.0, nor does my windows machine. The new iPods can charge over firewire, but not sync. While USB has higher theoretical speeds, Firewire 400 has higher sustained speeds. The difference is negligible, I've heard, for this application. I'll just have to get a new computer.I drive a 2005 Toyota Prius Gas/Electric Hybrid. My last tank was 53.6 miles/gallon. Gas prices fear me!

Re: IPOD USB 2.0 vs. IPOD Firewire
Unless you're constantly transferring large chunks of files back and forth between your PC and MP3, the difference between Firewire and USB 2.0 is overrated.
Hell, I transfer songs from my PC to my 40 GB MP3 player and leave them there forever, so USB 2.0 works just peachy for me.
Take care,

Re: IPOD USB 2.0 vs. IPOD Firewire
I just use USB 1.1... it sucks, but it gets the job done.
I was so disappointed when when I plugged by new Ipod into my firewire cable and it said firewire was not supported.Originally posted by DaImmaculateONeHow many brothers does Sub-zero running around in his clothing? No one can seem to kill the right one.Comment
