(This is not a political discussion so don't post about gas prices and how the president is at fault etc...

CNN or MSNBC should show highlights of past speeches, like ESPN shows for all the Super Bowls, leading up to the big dance. This would be great because we always hear the great quotes from speeches but never see the actual speech. Complete with John Facenda narrating and showing replays of all the big words and how well utilized they are!!
Other channels could chime in with an "All-Speech" list and breakdown the all time greatest lector Presidents.
Maybe an interview with the President about what he does at 9 pm on Sundays while Laura tunes into Desperate Housewives, and how life was growing up on the ranch, maybe a few questions about Jeb here and there.
And lets get rid of these John Stossel prototypes. I want all time greats like Konkrite, Koppel, and Facenda dubbed in. Or maybe even Harry Kalas. It would be entertaining to hear Kalas give his famous HR call for all the really great ideas in each speech.
"Long drive, watch that baby, outta here HR on the abortion issue" Gimme a break [\stossel]!!
Once the big day finally arrives there should be musical acts leading up to the big moment when the President is finally introduced. Breaking up the speech in the middle with the big musical act of the evening, and finally, interviews with all the people who contributed to the success of The Union!!!
