    drivers/software for (old) ipod?

    I acquired an ipod, the old ones, 20 gig 3rd gen. I believe. Anyways I have the cable, but I don't have the software and drivers for installing the ipod as an external disk drive..where could I get the drivers from and what software should I look into? thx

      i got that..but it doesn't recognize my ipod. I tried avanport, it connected but I couldn't transfer any music files.

        If you have an ipod I thought you only had to have itunes.

          I think you enable iPod disk usage through iTunes.

          On the other hand, if iTunes doesn't recognize your iPod, then I dunno.

                yeah..my ipod shows up in My Computer as an disk drive(hdd) with the folders/files that you would find in the EXTRAS folder in the ipod, but how do I access the MUSIC?
