It was a fragment of a real bullet that the blank pushed out.

wow stop talking about that part! that probably one of the most powerful scenes i've seen in a movie. but yeah i'm sorry for anyone that reads that cuz it ruins that experience.

Brandon Lee? In his case a real bullet was in the gun from what I remember. Jon-Erik Hexum did die from a blank round while playing russian roulette with it though.

And yes, a blank can still cause serious injury or death when shot at close range. There is a paper-like material that is packed into the blank and comes out at a high rate of speed when the blank is fired.

Nevertheless, great, great movie. One of the best I've seen in the past couple years.

I've never heard a girl scream so loud during a movie than during the scene w. the lil girl and the magic cape.

Definately one of the most moving scene's I've ever witnessed, hard to keep your eyes dry during that one. Very good movie.

She knew her dad couldnt control himself and if something was to happen, he might end up hurting someone.
I didnt even noticed that when she asked for the bullets...at first i just thought she picked them by random and it happened to be the most powerful bullets available

I loved this movie. It was filled with so much racial tension and irony by the way it played out.

                    SPOILER

Another great part was when the unracist white cop ended up shooting the black guy because he assumed he was reaching for a gun.

Solid movie. Full of character inquiry. It really makes you think. I enjoyed it a lot.

But, it may have been a little over the top with the theme.

I thought it was one of the best movies from last year. Definitely worth a rent.
