    Satellite Radio, Napster, or Ipod?

If you had the money to get a setup for any of these, which would it be? An Ipod, Napster-to-go with an MP3 player, or a nice XM radio receiver and service? Just looking for opinions. I want to get one, but not sure which at the moment.

IPod = All of your music in one spot, but you won't be hearing anything new.

Napster w/ MP3 player = You can get some new music that you want, and I'm sure if the MP3 player is big enough, you can keep some of your older songs.

XM = With the current lineup of portable units, you can listen live and even record some of the better things you hear. Plus you have the talk radio, news radio, and sports to listen to. You'll hear new music as well. If you want to wait a little bit (maybe a few months), XM is coming out w/ newer portable units that are a little smaller and will do everything mentioned above, plus you will be able to put some MP3's on there.

With all that said, and my experiences, it'd come down to an IPod & XM for me, but when those new portable units come out for XM, I'd be all over one of those.

it may be a bit pricey, but XM is coming out with an MP3 player/Sat radio combo at the end of next month...

Really? I knew that Sirius had the S50 (at about $300), but I hadn't heard that XM had one. That might be the way to go. Thanks for the opinions everyone.

Dell was supposed to be coming out with one too with XM, but they recently announced they aren't making hard drive players anymore, or not using Creatives players anymore. I wouldn't be surprised if Creative makes one since they made them for Dell anyway.

Soon I would imagine an mp3 player/satellite radio would be quite common.

Include a cell phone into that mix too.

Why not both? You can get a satellite receivers for $50. You could listen to XM for all the new stuff, sports, comedy, etc. and then load the iPod with all the stuff you already own. I have a SkyFi I'm actually probably going to sell 'cause I saw there's a new unit (by Audiovox I think) for XM with a line-in for MP3 players...that's what I need. That would probably work well for you if you went that route.

                    Hold the phone!

YOU got an iPod and, gasp...."love it"!?!?!?!

What happened to the iRiver and its optical out? What happened to "why would anyone want to watch videos on such a tiny screen"? What happened to "it's all just Apple marketing"?

Hmmmm, a lesson for the kids out there...actually USE a product, and see how good it is, you might be surprised.

Now to get pk on the bandwagon.......

By the way....I'd pick an iPod or similar mp3 player. I CAN'T STAND not being in total control of what I am listening to at any given moment.
